It was released in the USA earlier this year with additional footage to that on the original UK release. It seems to be a hard to find video. I have not seen a copy here in San Diego but I haven't tried that hard either. Numa are supposedly compiling a video of Numa songs for Fan club release which should include some Berserker era footage. I'll let you all know if it becomes available. If it only comes in PAL we should be able to make a transfer and copies with Beryl's permission, especially if we send her a fee per tape. Don't hold your breath though.......you could suffocate :) Derek ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Derek H. Thanks, Ken ---- kstuart@waffle.sns.com (Ken Stuart) Systems'n'Software Free Public Access BBS --- (510)623-8652 ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 13 Nov 92 09:42:05 PST From: dlangs%sunstroke@sdsu.edu (Derek Langsford) Subject: Club For Heroes To: numanews@cs.uwp.edu The "Club for Heroes" CD contained the ubiquitous "Cars" and also "Are Friend's Electric?". It's not a bad compilation - I have most of the songs in my CD collection. It pretty much defines what I consider the best of early 80s music. To: numanews@cs.uwp.edu Information is flooding in from across the country stating that the Ghost CDs and the odd Berserker CD are appearing in mail boxes. Email from Seattle, Colorado, New York and Canada, but not California. I wonder where mine is? Don't tell me the Post Office has an anti-California bias :) I trust mine will arrive before the weekend. Listen and enjoy! The Berserker CD clocks it in at 6.49 and The Other Side Of... clocks it at 6.47. I would agree with Paul Mayer in that the CD is of excellent sound quality. Many of you who have the London Times single will probably recall a short segment of that song which sound "scratchy" almost like there's dirt (by that song, I mean the B-side song Rumour...sorry) embedded into the vinyl. Actually, that is from the master. Somehow MPO managed to eliminate that noise and it has made the song all the more enjoyable. The information about the new compilation CD was great. Was the first New Romantics CD _Club for Heroes_ issued as an import and did it too have any tracks from Numan like the second one? Me! WORLD STORM - relatively new UK Gary Numan Fanzine ----------- I have received the first two issues of this fanzine. It is put together by Steve Guard, Steve Webb and Erik the Viking who contributed to Noise Noise. FORMAT: it is a inexpensively produced b&w fanzine, basically photocopied and stapled together. The paper is regular UK A4 (slightly longer and narrower than US 8.5 x 11. FEATURES:intro letter from Steve Guard, News and Information, Interviews (with Freak UK in issue 1 and 2), Special Releases, Fan Club activites with Gary, Big Noise UK, Tour info. NOTABLE INFO: issue 1 from Dec 91 mentions the balld album, Isolator (sic) and Isolator 2. Perhaps this second volume became "The Other Side of Gary Numan" - sounds likely to me considering the lack of track overlap. Bill Sharpe has a remix of Change Your Mind ready but it has not appeared yet it seems. West Won single 'National Radio' released. issue 2 from Jan 91: second west Won single 'Control', mentions "The American Gary Numan Appreciation Society" - anyone know anything about this? the appearance of AFE on the US Uurgh! a Music War CD issue 1 also shows a picture of the Radio Heart CD. This is extremely rare due to it being withdrawn very quickly at Gary's intigation I believe. OVERALL IMPRESSION: I am not sure it is worth the L2.50 per issue. There are some odds and ends that are interesting but for me, all I want to know about is what releases are coming out and the tours. COSTS: L1.75 UK L2.50 Rest of world I sent a L5 note I had for the first two issues. It will cost you more to send cash. They do not say anything about other currencies but I know that it is awfully expensive to cash a US cheque in the UK and getting UK cash here will cost you at least $3.50. I doubt if I will get issue 3 and on as I don't believe the return is worth it. Issue 3 apparently has an interview with Kipper. If you are interested send your cash (L10 for 4 issues i.e. 1 year) to: Steve Guard 114 Norleane Crescent Runcorn Cheshire WA7 5ET UK or Steve Webb 19 Middle Meadow Chalfont St. Giles, Buckinghamshire HP8 4QS UK Derek ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Derek H.
