CDs To: numan@cs.uwp.edu Hi out there, First bad news about the Berserker CDs. I am very sorry but it may be a while before those of you who ordered them get them and before I will be able to order them again. Peter called Beryl and she said they were mailed to him a few weeks ago. It seems they have been lost by the Royal Mail :( Unfortunately, they have no more to replace them and don't expect to have another pressing made until the end of the year. She is willing to refund the money. What I suggest we do is wait a few more weeks to see if they do turn up then proceed with the refund if they don't. At the end of the year we can try again. I realize how disappointed you will feel about this and I am very sorry. As always, it is out of my control. I hope they do turn up at Pete's. He said the mail has gotten less reliable of late in the UK. The White Noise CDs ordered bt delayed by the Berserker CDs are in the mail. The Machine and Soul extended CD is as yet not expected to get general release but as with Ghost and White Noise, Pinnacle, the distributor for Numa, have the option to do so. I will be waiting a month or so before taking orders. I won't be able to relate details of the '93 UK Fan Club book until later as I am moving this weekend. If you need to write or send me anything my new address is: Derek Langsford 4743 Baylor Drive San Diego, Ca 92115 My phone number remains the same. Jory is doing better, is more lively, is trying to say a few words and does not seem to be suffering too much from the chemotherapy. We continue to keep our fingers crossed - he's been in hospital for 6 weeks now. Must go, Derek Derek H. However, I certainly am glad to have found it. I first started getting into Gary's music in about 1983, when Warriors came out. I was in London at the time, and he was just coming down from his massive success in '79, '80. However, at the school I was attending, there was a small but fanatical Numan following, with the members dressing like Numan even in school (I left before Berserker came out but I doubt they dyed their hair blue). I became friends with one of those guys, and the rest is history. After that I went to Australia and I have just come here from Sydney about five months ago. I must admit that my intense Numan listening days are over, but up until 1991 or so, that's all I used to listened to. However, I made a couple of free-spirited, hippy type friends in Sydney and so my main interests now are Hendrix and Dylan. I still listen to Gary sometimes though, for old times sake. I agree with the general consensus that his music has declined since Berserker, but I like a few songs here and there from his new stuff. I'd rather listen to that than Black Box or Whitney Houston, that's for sure. I don't play any instruments, but my CD collection ranges from Hendrix, Dylan to Kraftwerk, Jean Michel Jarre to Indian classical. Looking forward to hearing from other Numan fans. There can't be that many of us around. If you're in the Boston area maybe we could get together, listen to Replicas and Telekon and reminisce about the gool old days.
