For every item ordered from the UK Fan Club through Paul Bosnako, you need to add $2.00. Paul also has asked me to mention that all checks and money orders must be made out to himself, not Numa Records or Beryl Webb which a few people have done by mistake. Me! To: numan@cs.uwp.edu now that we have a source, people, could we possibly get a groundswell of support going for a re-release of the 'berserker' CD? i'm pretty bummed that beryl et al and the royal mail managed to lose the last of the last batch, and i'd certainly buy two copies now. perhaps i should collate this. could everyone on the list who MIGHT HAVE THE SLIGHTEST FLICKER OF INTEREST in purchasing a copy of 'berserker' please EMAIL me directly at punkboy@u.washington.edu with the words 'berserker' in the subject line? and does anyone out there know how many 'possible' responses beryl would need to see before it was reconsidered? considering writeable CD and dat... -gts/uwiz (Greg Samson, punkboy@u.washington.edu) ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 11 Oct 1994 11:08:17 -0600 From: "BRIAN D. To: numan@cs.uwp.edu Spoke with Paul Bosnako yesterday and was told that Sacrifice and the new single have both been delayed for a couple of weeks and should now be out in November. Beryl did assure him that both would be out before the new tour starts. Me! I was hoping that in the fan club zine or something some of the fiction might have been made available.... THX Scott Allen Abfalter p.s. Yes, yes, I know I said 'scifi woks'. You know as well as I do that I meant 'scifi works' so don't go making fun of it... p.p.s. Someone said they bought dream corrosion at the local store. Is that available at records stores in the US? p.p.p.s. One more time please (I've asked before but never wrote the answer down) who do I write to get into the North American GN fan club? My name's Andy and Ive been listening to Gary for about 15 years. I'm gay and play guitar and sing in a 'queercore' (gay punk) band called Mouthfull I also listen to louder stuff, such as Nirvana, Sugar, NoMeansNo, Husker Du alongside such traditional fayre like Bowie, Japan , Tom Robinson etc... I live in Reading (near London) and Id love to hear from any other Numan fans in the srea (particularly who are planning to see him at Hammersmith or G.A.Y. in november) I was first attracted to Gary's music by songs such as "Jo The Waiter", "Everyday I Die", "It Must Have Been Years" and of course "Are friends Electric?" which spoke volumes to me as a gay adolescent. (although made me a little wary because of all the dark, negative images) I was glad to find out that Gary is due to play at the G.A.Y. nightclub at the LA2 in November - I'll be there and Im so glad to know that all his gay-friendly early lyrics were more than just words... Hope to hear from some of you soon Andy - amchaffie@email.meto.govt.uk ------------------------------ Date: 09 Oct 94 08:51:21 EDT From: Simon George Bone <70324.1340@compuserve.com> Subject: Numan & Scientology? To: Numan News >Also, recently I came across some William S. Burroughs spoken-word stuff >which was discussing Scientology, and (this recording was from Sixties) he >used the phrase "I disconnect from you" and "Downstat" several times as >Scientology terms of art. I am wondering: it seems unlikely that Numan used >these words out of pure coincidence. Does anyone know if he had any history >of involvement with Scientology? Or, since we know about Gary's fondness for science fiction, i wonder whether either of these (or anything else he's done) is inspired by L. Ron Hubbard's many sci-fi works. I have no idea whether Hubbard used any of the terminology from his novels in his religion, however. To: numan@cs.uwp.edu (Numanews Mailing List) What are people paying for copies of Here I Am? The one price I've been quoted ($24) seems kind of high, even for an import. BTW, I have decided NOT to sell my copies of the Asylum set yet; I have discovered hitherto unreported discrepancies between their tracking and that of the BB sets, and am investigating further. Sorry to get people's hopes up; if I decide the differences aren't worth holding onto the Asylum discs for, I'll repost them for sure. mike -- mike metlay * atomic city * box 81175 pgh pa 15217-0675 * atomic@netcom.com --------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Oooh... this is TOO much fun!"
