The last one I can remember was Steve In Florida saying that he has having a problem with An Alien Cure. The truth is that An Alien Cure was corrupted in initial transfer. This was remedied in early December. County Internet Service (the company housing NuWORLD and my own NU-Zone) confirms that all the WAV files read and play correctly at their end. Downloading these large files really tests your equipment. For people still having problems, I suggest they download the AU files. They are around half the size and are much more likely to come down clean as a result. The Microsoft Internet Explorer can play these files without any further assistance. Other utilities can be obtained for playing these files with Windows. The one I use is Windows Play Any File (WPLANY). This can be found on-line in a 38K ZIP file. If anyone is still have problems, please let me know. Can people also let me know if they had a completely trouble-free time with the WAV files? ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Matthew Holbrook http://www.county.net/machman/numan.html machman@county.net ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 24 Dec 1995 11:16:32 -0500 From: JazButcher@aol.com Subject: Berserker re-issue To: numan@cs.uwp.edu Finally! I found the re-issue of BERSERKER at Waterloo Records in Austin, Texas. It cost $21.49 plus tax. Thank you to Gary and everyone else at Numa for making this possible. Also ran across HUMAN, but didn't buy it that day. Big mistake as it was gone when I went back later in the week. Having never heard the extended versions of the BERSERKER tracks (other than My Dying Machine), it was a real pleasure to hear this album once again. It is, along with Replicas and Sacrifice, one of my favorite Numan recordings. Although I have to say that with the exception of New Anger, I like almost of all of his material, even Outland to some extent. I am glad to hear that because i very much enjoy the strong imagery of the characters you portray from album to album...for instance, Telekon and Pleasure Principle very much evoked the mood that you set in the albums music (maybe its because i just have associated the visuals and music for so long), but i really am intrigued... Q: Can you give a little bit of insight as to how you come up with these images...is it just randomness or is there a meaning? (ie. is the guy on Telekon saying 'back off' to the media?) ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 26 Dec 1995 15:39:07 -0800 From: RUDOLPH RONAY Subject: NUMAN Rockumentary To: "'numan@cs.uwp.edu'" Greetings: I was reading Nu-Zones Numan story and thought that it would make a = great start for a Biography on Gary. I don't know wether or not Gary = would like the idea if someone did a film documentary on him, his music = and his life. I would like to see at least a 2 hour special on him. = Shown on one of the major video channels. This would bring the world up = to date on him and set the record straight!=20 There has been other literature over the years on him; but I feel = (should I say it) a Rockumentary is due him. There is plenty of footage = of his concerts and with other bands doing covers I think "The = underground hero" needs to re-emerge into the limelight.
