Many people have been bidding on my CDs and I thank everyone for that. Here are the current high bids. Here is how I will start finalizing things. Tuesday night at 11:00 pm PDT I will close the bidding to new bidders. Unbid items will be added to another auction when I get back from vacation (no, I do not have more CDs than what are listed here, and except for Strange Charm, I only have 1 copy of each CD) Items which have had no activity since Thursday will be awarded to the highest bidders. About 10 items have received many bids and those will close once activity stops. I will Email participants regarding those CDs, and I will allow no new bidders for those CDs after Tuesday night. To everyone who has just inquired how much the CDs are or who has placed a 'however much it takes to win the item' bid, please place a numeric bid. Everyone who has placed a bid of any amount will get the opportunity to keep bidding once bidding is closed Tuesday night. The Tuesday night close is only for new bidders. If all of the songs on Berserker were written in 1984, why does the back of my CD say 1991? Why did Gary wait so long to release this material (and, until 1995, only to the fan club)? Did it have anything to do with Paul? I became an immediate fan. At the time I collected everything he recorded on LP. I have had the oportunity of seeing him perform live in Providence,RI in the early 80's. It was a great concert. I have not seen the man live. I=B4ve been to London a few times to buy my Numan record at Sister Ray.=20 Other music on my ears: New order, john Lydon, Front 242 and Thastroem a.k.a Peace love & pitbulls (Swedish). Thank God for Internet because i have been an isolated Numan-fan in the south east of Sweden. It's 1.05 Thursday afternoon; I've a cup of tea by my side; the PC is on and keeping me amused; Killing Joke thrash from the hi-fi (just for a change you understand); and THEN .......there's a knock at the door and just for a second I thought it was the man from the Royal Mail delivering my T-shirts. I was right, it was the man from the Royal Mail delivering my T-shirts. Overwhelmed, I managed to resist the temptation to hug the jolly looking fellow and rushed inside to open said packet. Wow ! Nice work Imp. Be safe in the knowledge that I'll be posing in this most excellent item of clothing on the forthcoming tour. Thanks again, Sean. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ email : Sean_Francis@realworld.com ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 01 Feb 1996 09:21:59 +0000 (GMT) From: Andy Subject: Techno Army not techno ? To: numan@cs.uwp.edu If Techno Army is more Shakatak than techno then this boy is going to be the saddest boy in the world... If anyone DOES pick up Nirvvana's Bleach instead of Sacrifice and youve already got Sacrifice, buy it anyway! Oh, as I dont know ANY other Numan fans and I'll be going to the London disco all by myself *sniff*, someone look out for me..I'll be the scruffy guy that looks nothing like a Numan fan probbaly wearing some dodgy indie band t-shirt and jeans, denim jacket and baseball boots... Andy Oh I forgot. My ex-boyfriend works for a local radio station. Part of his job is to record the vicar's "Thought for the day", and this vicar was saying that Bob Simmonds (ex-Numan drummer) is new training to become one ! Beat that for a claim to fame... To: numan@cs.uwp.edu To everyone who either sent me information via E-mail or on the newsletter, thank you very much for all the information (I believe many of the responses took up the bulk of issue #197 !). Numan fans seem to be generally nice people--and it's refreshing to see. So my bank account dwindles...so what. Short of going to England, where else am I going to get the music? Again, I just want to say "thank you" to each and everyone of you that helped me out a bit. Jim ------------------------------ End of Gary Numan Digest ******************************
