The change will come but no specific date can be given. Meanwhile, email to numan@archive.uwp.edu is forwarded to cs.uwp.edu, just in case someone notes the address from the t-shirts and tries to email it. Request of WWW page writers --------------------------- Would all web page holders make sure that any references to the Numan Digest state numan-request@cs.uwp.edu as the address rather than numan@cs.uwp.edu. I am trying to eliminate the subscription requests going to the Digest rather than the request address. I changed the UBL site entry a couple of weeks ago to reflect this. Thanks for your help. There's far more people interested in hearing what others have to say than not. Otherwise this digest would be an empty mail message twice weekly. Opinions are fine of course, but remember that everyone has their own. Despite a slating, I'd take no notice of this guy, by stopping posting your stories, etc, you're doing exactly what he wants. After that little groan it's my pleasure to tell everyone that the Guildford gig last night has to be one of the best I've been to. Gary was brilliant, the band was excellent, the lighting looked better, and the crowd were really up for it. All in all it was a fantastic night. I only wish I'd been to more dates on this tour, other than the Astoria, Guildford and Hammersmith on Sunday. The venues such as Guildford's Civic Hall are so much better than Hammersmith or Manchester Apollo, say. The very fact that they're smaller and largely unseated means that you can get closer to the stage and the places are packed out. You can really get in there and have fun. Still looking forward to Hammersmith mind you. the last night is not to be missed!!! Anyone wants to meet up then some of us are meeting at 6:30 outside. Hope to see you all there. Well, I will now be stopping them with immediate effect. >Please take this up with Mr Deacon if you're upset with this This is the kind of post that really winds me up. Mathew - you put yourself accross on the Internet as an ambassador for Gary Numan - *you* did this, you weren't asked to do this by anybody here, therefore you should know better than to publicly give out the E-mail address of someone who's upset you and then refer Numanoids to send this person mail because it's his fault your not carrying stories anymore. Some people are bound to get upset when "personal" stories about there hero's are published, because they don't have the interface with the stars - especially those living outside the UK (just remember alot of American and European Numanoids would like to attend UK concerts or meet the man but can't because of the shear distances/costs). This is human nature. I too have read a number of your snippets and one your Web page you are offering your personnel opinions of Gary's family and friends - you give the impression you are very close "let's go down the pub for a drink close". A word of advice - remain impartial, nuetral, don't say things like "every fan's second mother and makes a mean sandwich", when refering to Gary's mother because your rubbing fans faces in the dirt. How many fans has Beryl made sandwiches for? If so many people are enjoying these snippets - why are you bowing to the pressure of one individual? Please have more composure in the future, we don't want flame wars breaking out because someone's having a bad day, and giving out E-mail address's in this manner is bad 'net ettiquette. Would someone please E-mail me this post from Mr Deacon so I can gauge exactly what it was that upset Mathew enough to mail this post. How was I to know that the slightest hint at a joke was to turn Matthew mad? ( Probably some dodgy beef down in the west country.) It does somewhat remind of a little boy screaming ," You can't play with my toys". Why deprive the digest readers of your "insight" and relationship with Gary and his family, just because one person makes a comment on your style of writing rather than your content. I think you missed this point somewhat. Well I expected a torrent of abuse from other digest members but instead got rather a surprising amount of support. Mostly it seems taken in offense at Matthews assertion of envy or jealousy on the part of digest members. I can assure you Matthew that I in no way feel jealous of you or envious of your evidently god-given talent for reporting the facts no matter how trivial, smarmy or irrelevent. As someone said to me and I hope you don't mind me quoting as I think he's probably right.... >Hey, it seems Matt Holbrook wasn't too pleased with your little parody. I >guess he's either insecure or takes himself too seriously (or both). Just for some fun Thanks for all your support.
