(not in order) 1. Depeche Mode- Walking In My Shoes 2. Chris Issak- Wicked Game 3. Rage Hard- Frankie Goes To Hollywood 4. Robert Palmer- Addicted to Love 5. Seal- Crazy 6. Tears For Fears-Shout 7. Sting- When We Dance 8. Queen-Tie Your Mother Down 9. T-Rex - The Groover 10. Cars- Gary took the chance to get Cars played, This was obviously filmed a couple of months ago. Is there any chance that it will be released earlier? 2)How many tracks will you put on it? 3)Have you designed a cover sleeve yet? 4)When will you put new samples on the NuWorld web site? Thanks, Ron. ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 31 May 96 13:48:27 From: "Michael Rowe" Subject: Interesting To: "Gary Numan" I a currently performing Orepheus in the Underworld with a light opera company in Atlanta, GA. This is a great show, but how does it relate to Gary, well in the Third Act the person playing Jupiter is dressed, and looks like a 6 foot 4 inch tall Gary Numan.. Really Cool. And >>has the time expired to return them for replacement? And to whom would >they >be returned? Affected CDs are: Isolate Ghost Machine and Soul They did not indicate any other Numan CDs on PDO UK are affected (Emotion through M&S CD5's). PDO UK have not placed any end date to their replacement operation to my knowledge. Send the discs only (no artwork or jewel cases) along with a note seeking replacement, to: PDO Discs Ltd (UK) Attention Pat Burns, Helpline Phillips Rd Blackburn Lancs. BB1 5RZ UK Airmail from the USA takes about 1 week, surface 6-8 weeks. PDO have been very prompt in getting discs back if they have them available. I now know that they have M&S in stock. NB they did not press the extended M&S so don't send that one. Any other discs that are clearly bronzing can also be sent. Remember, the pale gold colour of PDO UK discs is not bronzing. That's normal for their discs. It's the dark orange colour that bleeds in from the edges on the label side that is the bronzing phenomenon. Good luck. The two, who are massive Numan fans, recorded the track last year, and it is being featured as a bonus-track on their new single "Girl Power" to be released on July 1st. That seems a hefty sum for a UK import, especially as the exchange rate between the US dollar and pound has been stable for more than a year now. UK imports used to cost about the same as they would if you bought them in the UK. So, #13 would translate to $20. I might expect to see maybe $22 but $27? CDUniverse are asking $25.99, CDNow don't have it on their lists but they are wanting $28 for "Sacrifice" and $25 for "Sacrifice extended". Someone is making a lot of money somewhere. One might as well order it via Pastel Blue (http://www.demon.co.uk/pastel/) who charge #12.91 but subtract the 17.5% VAT when shipping out of the EEC which almost takes care of the shipping cost, meaning you get charged about $20 for it to be delivered to your door, if you use a credit card. Seems like a much better value. Counting the pennies, Derek -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Derek H. However, I decided to but it anyway. I just want to say that I agree with some of the opinions. That is, that it does not "sound" like Gary Numan material. ALthough it was covers of his songs, it was not as bad as some people have painted it out to be. If you are going to compare this To Gary's solo work then ofcourse you're going to find it hard to accept. Once you accept that he has nothing to do with it other than vocals (and that they are his songs) it's actually a very interesting album. I found it interesting because it was a completely new sound for Numan songs. We all know that Gary's Exile album is not going to be like this so why don't we just accept it as something flattering rather than garbage like some of you have said. The versions of Are 'Friends' Electric, We Are So Fragile and I Die You Die are really good. Yes they are not the same but it's Techno Army's version. They're not massacred versions like Marilyn Manson's version of Down In The Park. At least Gary's vocals still preserve the mood of the original songs. The only disappointing songs on the CD were the versions of Machine & Soul, A Question of Faith and Deadliner. The reason for this I think is that these songs were meant to be dark and menacing. Trying to turn Deadliner into a Jazz-Dance fusion is like trying to turn water into wine. Other than that I found the rest of the CD to be quite interesting, not garbage nor a waste of money. However nothing's going to beat the upcoming Exile album. I think september is a little too far. All kinds of bits and pieces - regular releases, pic discs, rare 12", etc. I guess most of you have already upgraded to CD and got rid of your collections already, but if anyone IS interested, let me know privately at my email address, and I'll get a list back to you asap. All prices are (I hope) cheap as I really need the space this stuff is taking up - whatever doesn't get sold goes to OXFAM. brass stabs were well 'ard. The intro and 1st song (Tricks? I can never remember titles) on the Fury tour was top notch - the bootleg tape (played loud enough) still sends the odd shiver down my spine. Bye for now (pmarsh@tpmde.ac.uk) ------------------------------ End of Gary Numan Digest ******************************
