A friend even bought it new for less than $100-. Shop around. R.O. ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 6 Dec 1997 18:46:49 -0700 From: "Larry Goodell" Subject: Criticizing!!! To: "joey@lindstrom.com" Hi Numanoids, I've been with Numan News for about a month now so I figured I would say my part. Reading the Numan News can be very informative . I saw there is going to be a 5CD release in February of Sacrifice, Berserker, The Fury, Strange Charm, and Machine and Soul. I really really want these so if all you out there would keep me informed that would be killer! I know I'm weird for not already having these albums but I was slow to keep up with the Gary Numan movement. Sorry! Now for the bad: I have noticed while reading Numan News that most of the input is criticizing Gary Numan, his music, his lyrics and whatever else. I personally would never criticize someone such as Gary Numan who is far more musically talented than I. That would be like me comparing myself with him and what he does. There are very few on the planet that actually could. It is all right to voice an opinion but within reason. If we were to change anything about Gary Numan even one infinitesimal thing then it would us or something else. I would rather have the original thank you! One last thing, I hope and pray that if Gary Numan does not believe in GOD that he also does not believe in the devil... ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 4 Dec 1997 11:21:47 +0100 From: DE VISSCHER Luc Subject: EXILE - Sales To: "joey@lindstrom.com" Does anybody has any idea how the sales for Exile went? Did it make the CD top 100? Thanks for the info, Luc Belgium ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 04 Dec 1997 06:33:56 -0500 From: "Troy L. Walters" Subject: Exile and Sacrifice To: "joey@lindstrom.com" Hello all, On the continued complaints about Sacrifice and Exile being too "samey" (if that's a word -- if not, you read it here first) and the sound quality not so good (on Sacrifice)... I know not everyone has the luxury of owning an outrageous sound system to listen to Numan on, but it does make a difference. For Sacrifice, I have set my EQ so that the sound is quite remarkable. And if you play Exile through Pro Logic on an awesome surround system -- MAN is it powerful. Have my musical roots in percussion (a long time ago I'm afraid) I notice the differences in the percussion on each track. Granted they are VERY subtle at times. Just needed to get rid of a couple of pennies. -- Troy L. I have the opportunity to get one but I`m not sure wether it`s worth getting it as I already have the album on normal vinyl ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 4 Dec 1997 23:19:37 -0500 From: brezniakdavid@webtv.net (David Brezniak) Subject: Poetry and Power To: "joey@lindstrom.com" ...in the digest, that is.. BTW..in regards to the last digest: I always thought a good name for a '90's band would've been "Telekon" or "New Anger"...:-) Hi gang. It's me, yep, still banging around getting a bit of therapy here and there, but for the most part back on my feet (both of them) and doing well. I wish to thank everyone once again. Miss Marlene (where are you??) Thanks for the humorous emails, the one and only Fox...I forgot to thank you last time, THANKS! I appreciate everyone's concern here, and I feel honored to be part of a group of such fine people. You are all the best, and I cherish each and every one of you. OK, enough rambling :-) BTW-don't send replies into the digest with HTML or yes, we all get that wonderful "gobbeldy gook" to look at. Andy: wish I had been there for the shows, would've loved to drop in your flat for a party later on! See you soon! The band featured Chris Connolly (Ministry, Revolting Cocks) on vocals, as well as Matt Walker (Smashing Pumpkins, Filter) and members of Chicago's Cupcakes (recently signed to DreamWorks). I'm looking for a tape. Last time the Midwest saw such a tribute was with Milwaukee's Dis, who performed exclusively "Basic J"-era Tubeway Army material in the outfits from the Pleasure Principle insleeve.
