It arrived yesterday the 6th(my birthday...how apropos)! It is more comprehensive and the sound quality is much better than that Telekon/I, Assassin set that is readily available(which skips, by the way! Thank you again for it only cost me 40 pounds(is that about 60 American? I don't know yet because my credit card has not been charged yet.) I just bought a new car too and it has made my traveling with Numan quite enjoyable. To the person(s) that responded to my request for Asylum 2 from their personal collection: I am glad that I did not get anxious and send you the 150 dollars that you were asking for as that is quite a ridiculous price! Knowledge is power and information is the most valuable asset! PS Where is Aaron Hannum(a.k.a. Scorbie)? It features art by Linsner, and, begin a Gary fan and a Dawn fan, I want it. Have looked all over sites for the date but can't find it. Can anyone help and offer any information about it? Your local telephone company has filed a proposal with the FCC to impose per minute charges for your internet service. He completed a short UK tour in October, which we were privileged to see in London. Live, he is everything that you would imagine. Enigmatic, is probably the best word to use. If your can make it, he is playing a show in Shrewsbury, UK, on 12th January, which will be filmed for a possible reelease. Subject: New Member To: numan@cs.uwp.edu Hello I am new to the list, and as requested here is my introduction. My name is Ian , I am 25 and live in Witham, Essex, UK. Like many people I first got into Gary in 1979 (aged 7!) and "Cars" was the first record of his I owned. Although I strayed in the early 90s I was knocked out by "Sacrifice" and quickly caught up on the albums and singles I had missed. I have only seen Gary live twice, once at V97 (where I wore my Numan t-shirt with pride!) and at Shepherd's Bush Empire late last year (where I stood next to another musical hero of mine - John Foxx). Other bands I like : Human League, B52s, Devo, Sparks, M, Ultravox, Kraftwerk, Ultravox, Japan, Pet Shop Boys, David Bowie, Wire, Blur, The Smiths & Depeche Mode. I shall lurk for a little while, but once I start posting there will be no stopping me. BTW if anyone knows of mailing lists for Devo & The Human League please let me know! ~ Ian ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 4 Jan 1998 18:28:07 EST From: Jamesy999 Subject: Numan To: numan@cs.uwp.edu just got my first digest mail. it's an excellent idea ;;; long may it continue I've been a Numanoid since '79 and yes I was at the Hamersmith Principle gig.. little did I know that 18/19 years later I would still be a fan...and still go to gigs as often as I can. As far as Numan's musical direction is now days ;;;;;who cares!! as long as he still puts stuff out I will buy it!!. I just hope that if Numan does "take off" in '98 he don't forget the fans who have been here all the while.I know it's a bit selfish of me but there you go ....see ya TJ ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 4 Jan 1998 12:50:59 +0400 From: "b. koski" Subject: Premier Hits and Cleopatra Records To: numan@cs.uwp.edu "Jenny Beck" said: > HEY! I dunno if anyone else has reported this, but last Sunday techno artist Tricky mentioned "Premier Hits" in a list of albums he's been listening to on MTV's 120 Minutes... It almost seems like MTV may end up being forced to push Numan due to the fact that a lot of today's artists are really into his music.. Which could be good since Gary will finally get the mainstream respect he deserves, but could be bad since the same cheerleaders and jocks that asked me who he was when I mentioned him in a school newspaper article will be getting deeply into him.. :( Hopey77 said: > it. (Hint, hint if there's anyone from Cleopatra out there.) However, I did hear a rumor that there's a chance that Beggars may re-release their Numan albums in the US this summer, but that was just a rumor that probably shouldn't be trusted and isn't true... Just responding to Pete Enrights inquiry as to the current status of John Foxx, which thanks to an earlier edition of the digest I can perhaps be of assistance. I apologize for going off on a non-Numan tangent! Foxx has continued working, after disappearing from the face of the Earth basically or beaming out as you put it! New albums Shifting City and Cathedral Oceans. Haven't gotten CO yet, but SC is OK. No Garden, though. I inaugurated my new car CD player with SC and it was perhaps a bad choice for driving, as one song goes over and over "Crash... It happens." Good web surfing music though. Try http://www.musicblvd.com or http://home.navisoft.com/tclimports/ Here's another tip: if you come across a "new Ultravox album" called Ingenuity: steer clear! I put "Ultravox" in quotes because the only original member is Billy Currie. The jacket photo says it all. Its a picture of a bunch of guys you've never heard of with an old picture of Billy Currie kind of pasted in. To say that this is the worst Ultravox album of all time would be paying it a compliment, because you're at least saying its an Ultravox album. The music bears no resemblance. Its pretty bad. ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 08 Dec 1997 11:32:40 +0200 From: stefano meneghetti Subject: will Gary Numan play in Milan???
