I believe most of my Numan views are held by many. However, the personal comments were not really for public consumption. I had tried to email Jason many times. In the end the digest was the only way I could contact him. As we now realise, his email is set up incorrectly and he cannot be contacted by the address specified. Despite what Jason says, I have seen him many times. In the future, all comments will be made in email - when possible!! I doubt very much if any Scots would be that offended. How do I know? I live in Glasgow and have done for 16 years (Although I'm English). I would say however that I have seen every show that Gary has ever done in Scotland and Glasgow has the best audience ever for any Numan show. The best gig in Scotland was Warriors at Glasgow Apollo 1983, Ayr Pavillion was good as was the Plaza Ballroom, The Glasgow Pavillion was indeed another good venue. The only real bad gigs I have ever seen Gary do were at Hammersmith Odeon and Edinburgh Playhouse. The second best Venue in the UK was Manchester Apollo. I'm sure everyone else will disagree because at the end of the day it's what's personal to you. Incidentally the 2nd night at Wembley Arena in 1981 was the best overall Numan gig ever for me, because of the stage show, Shock and the coach trip down from Bolton (England). Re Living Ornaments 79 cd. > open the case and look at the inner cover on the back part of the cd > the shot of the group WHO THE HELL IS THAT DRUMMER !!!! because it > doesn't look like Ced ! > Actually I think it is. What happened was a very rare quantum phenomena that works like this: due to his constant unprotected exposure to the volume and power of Numan's music, the harmonic resonance literally blew poor Ced's hair out. If you look at the picture you'll notice he's sitting in front of the glowing triangle, so the pyramid energy it is absorbing from Numan's synths is being amplified via the secret interrossiter hidden behind it, refocussing and directing it straight through Ced's head! Well, you did ask ... Good idea from Paul Denman - lets ALL e-mail MTV to play the Dominion Day video ... WE WANT NUMAN NOT HANSON! Exile is great in the car here in Moscow as all Russian drivers have a death-wish, and Numan's lyrics seem to fit the white-knuckles-gripping-the-steering-wheel- while-some-asshole-swerves-you-off-the-road-into-the-blinding-wall-of-snow scene perfectly! BTW now I know for sure who that mysterious truck driver was in "Duel" - a Russian, and they drive those very same trucks here the same maniacal way here too. Thanks for shedding light on the Exorcist quote! Hey! Hold the phone! I must have missed something vital! What kind of sausages does Gary eat? Now this is news! We can't get decent sausages here in Moscow. Does he have his own brand? Gazza's Snags would be a good name. And how does he cook them? BBQ in marinade? What does he serve them with? And the wine? these are important questions. Sorry. You try living in Moscow and see what happens to your mind ... pass the borsht please ... Posters of Debbie Harry? Naked? In bed? Where can I get one? Where am I? Everyone knows Numan is not God. But, I bet God has a damn fine time bopping to his Numan collection when no-one is looking ... To fellow Aussie Numanoid David Pipe - well done old man! Halfway round the planet to see Gaz! And I thought I was the only one! E-mail Tony Webb on the official Numan site and ask him, I'm sure you'll get to say G'day to the man - as I have in the past! Good luck. Tell him I sent you. I'll probably stowaway on Aeroflot and take in the Brussels gig - yahoo! I'd better go take my pills now ... Hi my name is Paul I was born in 1968 I am from Scotland but am now living in Ottawa, Canada, I have been here for almost three years now, these winters are getting pretty cold. I've been listening to Gary Numan 1979, I used to be in the fanclub, my membership number was 168. Unfortunatley I let that slip some years ago. I stopped listening to his new stuff for a while and the last album I bought was Strange Charm. So I've got some catching up to do. I have very few numan CDs but I have a lot of vinyl stuff. I would really like to know what cds are availablre in North America and where I can oreder them. From memort I have the replicas/plan, tubeway army/dance, exhibition, the fury, Strangecharm and the John Peel sessions. Where can I order the rest from and what is available? Any help here and I will be very grateful. Other acts that I like these days are slightly more industrial than Gary; KMFDM, Skinny Puppy etc. I also like U2 some Oasis (not as much as I used to). I'm also starting to like some techno/Dance music though everything. Anyway if any North America fans can shed some light on where I can locate the cds then that would be great. cheers ...Paul... **************************************************** * Paul Murray | Nortel, Northern Telecom * * | Japan Cable TV * * | Phone 613-765-3614 * * | Email pmmurray@nortel.ca * **************************************************** ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 1 Feb 1998 12:25:27 -0500 From: Brian Moloney Subject: Now there's a funny thing... I've been a Numan fan not nearly long enough (about 14 years), when I was mesmerised by Micromusic, after that there was no looking back. I went to my first Numan concert that very same year, it was one of the best nights of my life. Since then I've seen Gary on every tour since (except 1985, he didn't come to Scotland that year). I don't really have a particular favourite album (though I could certainly tell you the ones I don't like, a certain musical period lasting what about 8-9 years, my gawd), although I hold a special place for Warriors (it was the start of something good for me, in my personal life). Favourite Numan songs from each album are TA: Jo the Waiter; R: Down in the Park; PP: Cars (of course); T: Remind Me to Smile: D: Crash; IA: War Songs; W: Warriors; B: most of them; F: The Pleasure Skin (only "Numan" song on the entire album); SC: um.....; MR: America; O: My World Storm; M'n'S: didn't buy it, heard some of it, wasn't impressed; S: A Question of Faith and finally E: Dominion Day!!
