Just wanted to let you know that Cleopatra has decided NOT to import the Numa box into the states after all. It seems the costs were prohibitive and it would have ended up costing the consumer almost as much as the import version. They have decided instead to concentrate on the single cd re-issues (that I am working on, and have different bonus tracks). I finished the artwork for the Dominion Day single which will be out soon. It has seven of the eight tracks from the two cd singles released in the UK a few months ago. I used the same photos plus a new photo from the tour program. Bye for now. Particularly the >latter with "Music For Chameleons (Extended Version)" and the radio promo >remix of "White Boys And Heroes" included as bonus tracks. I second that one!! And I Sing Rain on the Dance CD, too... Anyone else think that putting Tubeway Army & Dance on a single CD was about the strangest marketing job ever?? Both great albums, but yes. I am waiting for the individual CD's with all the 12" mixes & B-sides before I spend any cash to replace my vinyl with plastic... Hope it comes soon. - Scott -------------------- Scott Gibbons nomusic@mw.idsonline.com ADAM &-THE ANTZ LILITH ORBITRONIK STRAWBERRY ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 19 Jun 1998 22:29:26 EDT From: AScand7463@aol.com Subject: Hello everybody. Hi. I'm Antonio. Or, Tony, as most people call me IRL. I've been a fan of Gary's since 1979, it was Complex which turned me, I never really liked Cars all that much. I live in Manchester, UK, and have seen every gig Numan has done here (Manchester and a handful of other places in the UK) since 1980. Music-wise, I like a lot of things. Placebo are a favourite, as is John Foxx, especially since I saw him on the Exo Tour for the first time ever. Also, a lot of punk rock and goth and a bit of metal. I really like Tricky, too, and of all the rumoured collaborations with Numan, it's the Tricky one I'm most looking forward to. I have a web-site, for my sins. The Numan bit is called 'Noise Noise' and it's at http://members.aol.com/ascand7463/ANTONIO/Page2.html I'm not very computer-minded, so it's not a technically stunning site, but it's there :) Anyhow, I'm looking forward to reading this list, anything to do with Numan is cool in my opinion. You have now been added to the Gary Numan mailing list. Please send an introduction message to the mailing-list (numan@cs.uwp.edu, not the sender of this message). In this message, please let us know who you are, who some of your favorite artists are, how long you have listened to Gary Numan. Let us know if you play any instruments or anything else that might come to mind. Complete archives and a discography, information can be obtained via anonymous FTP from ftp.uwp.edu. Since the spring of 1991 Derek Langford has been distributing a pseudo- monthly electronic newsletter called "Numanews" to interested parties. The purpose of the newsletter was to keep fans of Gary Numan on the net informed of releases, tours etc. but it grew into a central point for discussion of any subject concerning Gary and his music. The newsletter seemed necessary due to the limited availability of some of his albums and the lack of publicity in the USA. With Derek having personal contact with Gary's parents and membership in the UK-resident only Gary Numan Fan Club (run by Gary's mother) he has a prime source of information that he thought he should share. Since the 25th September 1992 Numanews has operated as a moderated mailing list sent out weekly in digest form. To make changes to your address e-mail numan-request@cs.uwp.edu To contribute something, mail your message to: numan@cs.uwp.edu Mail sent to this address will be automatically forwarded to the moderator for approval. If important information (new release, developments at NUMA etc) arises, it will be sent out as a Numanewsflash bypassing the Digest and reaching you as quickly as possible. A description of suitable subjects for the mailing list is given below. CHARTER FOR NUMANEWS - the Gary Numan mailing list --------------------------------------------------- This list is for the purpose of the acquisition and dissemination of info about Gary Numan. Suitable material should have some connection with Gary or his music. This includes info on new releases, concerts, reviews, sightings of Numan collectibles, sale of or requests for Numan items, reports of radio play, interviews, discussion of available releases, critiques of past releases, Numan trivia, other Numan Fan organisations/publications, musical influences, musical influencees, artists with some connection to Gary Numan (collaborators, others on his NUMA label, past backing band members etc): basically anything that can be seen to have relevance to the group. Discussion of other 80's synth artists should be left for other mailing lists/newsgroups if no relation to Gary is an integral part of the contribution. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Digest: Twice each week, all of the messages that were sent to numan@cs.uwp.edu are collected together, sorted by subject line & date, then mailed out to all of the members of the digest list. When you reply to the digest, you mail to numan@cs.uwp.edu. (Please change the subject to match that of the topic you wish to discuss.) The digest goes out in the small hours of Sunday and Thursday mornings. PLEASE NOTE: If your site bounces mail for a period of two weeks, I will automatically suspend your subscription. If you wish to inquire the status of the list any time, please feel free to mail numan-request.
