I have a list that I can mail out to anyone who is interested. The prices are all very low (no bidding or price hiking), and most 80's artists are in there (AFOS, A-ha, Assosciates, Blancmange, Depeche, Duran, Erasure, FGTH, Foxx, H17, Human League, New Order, OMD, Simple Minds, etc, etc, etc - to name but a few). Unfortunately, there's not much Numan in there, as thats staying with me! Just mail me if you would like a list. Regards, Tim. ______________________________________________________________________________ This message has been checked for all known viruses by Star Internet delivered through the MessageLabs Virus Control Centre. The tape version had longer mixes of most tracks, most notably 'This Is New Love', which had some extended (and very cool) analogue riffs. I've since lost the tape and bought all the Numan back catalogue on CD. The version of Berserker I now have is the original (shorter) version, does anyone know where I can pick up a copy of the tape version of the album on CD? Whilst this is not my favourite Numan, the tape version was, imho, superior to the standard version. I appreciate your help. Mail me at mark@spiresoftware.co.uk. Mark PS Is Gemma pregnant? Or am I listening to too many rumours?? ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 28 May 2000 08:13:26 -0700 From: awa Subject: got my mojo workin' To: digest@garynumanfan.nu numan is mentioned from time to time in mojo magazine in sometimes good, sometimes not-so-good, light. it's always interesting when he's in there along with john lennon, brian jones, brian wilson, oasis, syd barrett, blur, iggy pop and so on. they must know that what he does is at least "mind altering." anyway, i think it's one of the best pop magazines out there but could stand a lot more gary numan (what couldn't?). the one with iggy pop on the cover, i think it's the most recent, has interesting little article with gary and a pretty good cartoon of his familiar face. i don't know if anyone's mentioned this already but if they did, a big, fat "i'm sorry" is owed. --alec "pochacco" ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 28 May 2000 12:02:22 +0100 From: VinceH Subject: Just a few burblings To: digest@GaryNumanFan.NU On 25 May, Linda Astrup wrote: > a few digests ago, thewaiter had some GN videos for > sale, and after the titles there was 'A330' and 'A320' > and 'A310' written - what does that mean??? They would have also had an '=' before them. The '=A3' is the encoding for the uk pound sign. Unfortunately, not all systems cope with the encoding, so users of such see it in that form. It's better IMO to suffix the value with 'ukp' rather than prefix it with the pound sign. So, the above mean: =A330 -> 30ukp (ie 30 quid). =A320 -> 20ukp (ie 20 quid). =A310 -> 10ukp (ie 10 quid). Where I differ is:- > Stonecold and breathing Stone cold and bleeding. (I think this could be either, though) > Just while I needed them Just when I'm needing them (I think this fits better with the previous line - "Words seem to leave me" - because of the tense. However, if that's "seemed" and not "seem", then "needed" would work. IYSWIM) > Everyone but me Everyone's lying. VinceH -- WebChange2 for RISC OS: 12ukp. I have had a bit of lyrics running through my head the past couple weeks. Insteed of trying to go through my entire music collection, LP by LP, CD by CD, tape by tape. I was hoping for some help from my fellow Numanoids. Here is the lyric, or something close. "and when you reach the end, it's never as good as you hoped, or bad as you feared." Any ideas? It was on my list of jobs to do, but work (reports, marking, etc.) just had to take precedence. I still might get round to it eventually... Very difficult....
