For the love of all, PLEASE STOP IT! And to the spammer: Get a life. Thank you and Happy New Year. ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 27 Dec 2000 10:57:34 From: "William Wilson" Subject: Fallen Backwards To: digest@garynumanfan.nu Hi! All, Time to lay to rest all those doubts that Dave Carlson and myself are some sort of devil worshipers and hear backward lyrics where none exist, well I'm happy to say that we have confirmation from a very reliable source...GARY NUMAN HIMSELF!!!!,he sent me the following e-mail this morning.........."Thanks for your e-mail to NuWorld. The lyrics you've come up with for 'Fallen' are close but not exactly right. I'll probably print them in the next Alien magazine (if I can remember what I DID say). Bye, Gary Numan." .........so I think you will all agree,we are not mad....just Crazie!! Why Christmas Eve? Because it's the day I received Digest #102 and once again, it was NOGGED up. (That's Christmas-speak for the variation on the big F). Flame me, beat me, do what you want, BUT FOR GOD'S SAKE READ THIS POST!!! 1. DO NOT NOGGING REPLY TO THIS DIGEST. When you do, the whole digest is copied into the next issue, which is darn aggravating. At the end of each digest is the following message: To reply to the messages in this list, mail to: digest@garynumanfan.nu This means we should all have the above in our address books, and when we want to post a message, we start with a NEW message, enter a subject, and then expound (or bitch as it were). Just a suggestion to Derek or Joey -- maybe it would be a good idea to list the reply message right at the top of the digest, along with the death penalty if done wrong. That and I appreciate the effort you guys put into this digest, excuse me for butting in on your turf. 2. DO NOT POST MESSAGES IN NOGGING HTML FORMAT. When you do this, your message has a bunch of... I am not a techno geek by any means, but I have figured out a few things, so for lack of a better word... CRAP along with it. To send your message in PLAIN TEXT, do the following: Click on TOOLS ...and then on OPTIONS .....and then on the MAIL FORMAT tab ........and then, where it says "Send this message in format:" select PLAIN TEXT in the drop down menu. Thank you for your noggin' attention. Just so you don't think I'm a total nogg, I will now make a comment which could be considered an actual posting with relation to the nature of this digest. I like PURE very much. "Walking with Shadows" is my favorite so far. There. A Merry Christmas to all. phil ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 25 Dec 2000 15:41:42 +0100 From: luc.de_visscher@ch.Novartis.com Subject: Nine Inch Nails To: digest@garynumanfan.nu (Gary Numan) Discovered NIN through Numan, with Metal being on Things Falling Apart. Indeed, you can clearly hear Numan influences in NIN, but a lot of stuff from Pure you can hear also hear in NIN. Strange. Anyway, bought The Fragile meanwhile, which is a this very moment my favorite CD. To: digest@GaryNumanFan.NU Tony...and all... I have to say thankyou for bringing it to my attention. Your description sounded familiar, so I checked through my collection, and there it was, collecting dust between my copies of Exhibition. I had obviously baught it all those years ago and have never opened it, I didnt even know it was a Picture CD. So Thankyou.... (um, Sorry its not for sale).... Secondly has anyone found any decent affordable Hotels in Central Dublin for the gig, the ones I have used in the past have all doubled their prices because its the same weekend as the Rugby Internationals... (Anyone flying over from Bournemouth?) Many Thanks. Ade. ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 27 Dec 2000 07:49:12 -0500 From: Terrence Thoman Subject: Wish list for 2001 To: Gary Numan Digest Hello Nu-friends. After receiving the Digest V2 #102 (which weighed in at 679KB), here's my Nu-wish list for 2001. 1) Going to see the Numan 2001 N. American tour when it arrives upon our shores 2) The universal realization that this digest is a TEXT based list, free from binary attachments. 3) The death of HTML-encoded messages on this list 4) A list free from members who attach one or more previous digest (in their entirety) I for one would also once again express my appreciation to Joey, Derek, and Dave for their contributions in producing the digest. Though I don't contribute nearly enough, I still enjoy receiving it (warts et al). Well wishes to all in the millenium upon which we stand at the threshold like a bride and groom at the alter. The best is yet to come....
