In the 80's, I bought most of my Numan stuff as imports, through various record/import shops in the US. As the years passed, I turned to magazines like The Record Collector, Olde Market, and GoldMine. One of the great things that happened, was I developed some nice friend ships. One such person was Julian Lloyd from Leamington Spa, Warks. In 1988, he even suggested that I could stay with him and his family so that I may go over there and see Numan for the last two nights of his '88 tour. The entire trip was great, and I was befriended by his family. Unfortunately, as time has gone on, we have lost track of each other. Does anyone on this list know Julian? If you do, would you happen to have an email addy for him? Thanks Mark Hubbard ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 10 Feb 2001 20:14:13 -0600 From: Jeff Tolva Subject: Pure Tour Edition All, I ordered my copy of Pure Tour Edition from Amazon UK about a month ago, and the release date was suppose to be Feb 5 in the UK, but I believe the release was a couple of days later than that. Amazon UK confirmed they shipped my copy to the US on Feb 8, so I'll assume it'll be here within a week via Air Mail. If you live in the US like me, all I can say is be patient...it'll get here soon...I hope. Mike ============= =Whats happening with this Tour Edition CD?? = =I ordered mine from Amazon over a week ago, and theres still no sign of it. =Plus there are other people I know who have ordered it from other Net =sellers, and they too have receieved nothing yet. I am somewhat relieved to find that I am not the only person who messed up! The Radio 2 interview with Johnny Walker had Gary sounding like his old nervous self at first, but he relaxed after a few minutes. To give Radio 2 listeners a taste of the current Numan output they played two tracks - Are 'Friends' Electric? and Cars. I am listening to the tour edition disc 2. The live tracks are good, but I agree that 'listen To My Voice' - perhaps the most danceable track for years has been submerged. For 'Remix' read 'sampled'. Love to all, Paddy Vickers Looking forward to the show in Birmingham! ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 11 Feb 2001 07:07:17 -0600 From: Jeff Tolva Subject: North American tour dates All, Probably like many other North American fans, I am anxiously awaiting the announcement of the impending dates and venues. I'm sure most are already aware that Gary's NuWorld site mentions the that the North American tour is likely to be about 15 dates starting April 17th. This would be quite a few dates less than the North American Exile tour 3 years ago, so it'll be interesting to see what cities make it and what cities get cut. With the UK tour due to start in just a couple of days, I don't think we'll see any announcement of North American dates until after the UK tour ends. To all of you going to the UK gigs, please write this Digest with the details and your thoughts of those gigs! For many of us in North America, this will be the only details we see of the UK gigs. Have a great time on the UK tour, and don't forget about your North American mates!!
