I would of course pay for the disc and shipping. As a brit abroad (US) I'm unable to attend in person :-( Many thanks in advance and please email me off list. Too often we get bypassed due to the overshadowing presence of LA some 100 miles to the north. Thank you Gary/Eagle/Spitfire - and whoever else is responsible. 4th and B is the old Pacific Theatre I believe, where Gary played on the Teletour. I'll start researching places to meet prior to the show. San Diego's Gaslamp quarter is close by with loads of watering holes/restaurants. It was with much excitement that I went to Gary's first ever show in Dublin (Ireland) on Saturday (Feb. 17th). I had persuaded a number of my friends (all non-numan fans) to attend with me. The overall reaction from them was mixed - too heavy, etc... but I had warned them that the Numan of today is not the Numan of "Cars". One person loved it. I had seen Gary twice before in London during the 90's so I was really looking forward to it.. And Gary did not let me down. The venue was called Vicker Street. A relatively new but excellent venue. No matter where you were, you got a great view of the stage. The crowd filled the upstairs balcony and the downstairs seats and standing areas. There seemed to be many people who travelled over from the UK (which was great). I did not see the support group as I was still in the bar knocking back a few Guinness. About 9pm, with much anticipation and typical Numan intro (lights, menacing music and shouts of "Numan, Numan, Numan...."), the guys came on the stage to huge shouting and applause. Band wore black and grey. Gary in black/grey T-shirt and leather pants. Rob Beasley was on drums, David Brookes on keyboard, Ade Orange (with short bleached hair) on keyboards and Steve "Mohican" Harris (who could not stay still all night ... he was mental) on guitar. At one stage during the night, Gary wrestled Steve to the ground. The songs for the night were (from my best recollection - I did have a lot to drink later!!!!) 1) Pure 2) Films 3) Rip 4) Listen to My Voice 5) Metal 6) Down In the Park 7) Walking with Shadows 8) My Jesus 9) Torn. 10) Everyday I Die. 11) Me! I Disconnect From You 12) I Can't Breathe 13) Are Friends Electric Thank you! Goodbye! (....Gary, man of few words) Shouts of Numan, Numan, Numan, reappearance and 14) Cars (....this sounded very like the 1980's E-Reg version) 15) Voix. 16) Remind Me To Smile (.....one of my favourites) 17) Prayer For the Unborn (.... I saw Gemma in the balcony singing along to this ....) lights on, concert over. The show lasted about 1.5 hours. It was as good as I had expected. Gary really put everything into it ... and the crowd responded. It is hard tell with Gary, but I think he enjoyed himself. My friends and I retired to the adjoining bar and about an hour later Steve Harris walked through, shaking hands with everyone. The "Numan" bus was outside (Gary already inside it) ready for the 100 mile trip up to Belfast that night. When I got home later (about 2:30pm) I put on Pure (at the highest volume, bass on !!!!!) - this must have really pissed off the neighbours because when I got up the following morning and pressed play - I nearly deafened myself. I've tried emailing Wembley TV but they have not replied. If anyone gets this broadcast to run then please disclose how via the digest. I only live 30 miles from the Manchester gig but am forced to miss it having been involved in a damned accident. Many thanks for Rick in D.C. for the tour information. I'm from Texas but will be in D.C. for business that week and I've got my tickets. Had I not known I'd be waiting and waiting for maybe Houston or Dallas and a long drive. As it is, it works out perfectly. I've been a fan since '80, but never seen a show!! -Mark I'll change your world then I'll listen to reason. ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 19 Feb 2001 21:34:29 From: "Tam Tamster" Subject: friday Hello!
