Well done Mark. Congrats, Mark, but dang you anyway! I think I'm probably the only noid on the list who lives in the Chicago area, and here you are muscling in on my territory! No, I kid. I wouldn't have thought of hosting the get-together at the HOB itself. Great idea. Val informs me that people who are in the dining area before the show get to come upstairs to the performance area before the doors open to the rest of the public. I called HOB and that door-opening time is 8:30; the show is at 9:30. They said it's a 21 and older show, so I'm afraid we have to leave the budding young numanoidlets at home. Listen, even though Mark beat me to the punch on the get-together, what I can offer is a place to stay for anybody coming from out of town who needs a place. No, I'm not kidding; Val and I have a house with more space than we need: two guest bedrooms and a fold-out downstairs. I suppose if you're hitting every show on the tour-- including the Friday night before in Cincinnati and then the following Sunday night in Minneapolis-- then you'll probably have to turn around and get right back on the road. But if you're just hitting this and maybe a few other scattered shows (I think I'm going to be at the Royal Oak in addition to Chi-town, and that's it) then you might want to get a night's rest before heading home again. Heck, get here early and we could hit the goth/industrial club Neo on Friday and see if we could get them to play some Gary for us. E me and let me know. > hey does anybody remember where that person was who made copies of the > dramatis b-sides and 12 mixes on cd? Yes, his name is Wes Holley and he's at mailto:romoboy@midsouth.rr.com His Dramatis cd includes the tracks: 1. The Shame (extended) 2. I Can See Her Now 3. One Step Ahead 4. The Curtain 5. Pomp and Stompandstamp 6. Lady D.J. 7. Face On The Wall And while I'm giving him a plug, he also has a Hohokam disc, the Bill Sharpe collaboration album 'Automatic,' the instrumental 'Human,' a disc of demos from 'The Pleasure Principle,' and a two-for-one disc of 'The Radial Pair' and the Hugh Nicholson collaborations. Just for your future reference. > Have you heard what happens when you let it play for like, 15 minutes > after the "last" listed track? > > You get a funky electronic version of DITP! Okay, TikTok, how long have you had this album before you finally noticed this? (Just taking a poke!) My take on it is that Terre is reminding us where these compositions came from. The synthed "Down" is almost robotic, even though it sounds note-for-note the piano rendition, only played on a Casio, or whatever. It's cold, just like how Gary's music used to be described. Am I the only one who has that Terre poster up on his wall? love, Ben http://home.earthlink.net/~iglarmobley * * * "We could do worse.
