Hello Numanoids of the World! Jim "The Machman" Napier here to tell everyone there is definitely no lack of interest in the Pure Tour! Having operated the internet's premiere source of news about the 2001 tour here, I can testify there is anything BUT a lack of interest. I literally received many letters daily from folks who are losing sleep counting down the minutes until Gary arrives in their town. Not to mention folks who are travelling from as far as Australia to join us cheer on Our Friend Electric. A lack of interest? As if! Jim Collins and many other Numanoids are attending several east coast shows! Him and several other Numanoids even had enough enthusiasm to put together a place for us all to meet before the shows. Me? I'm blasting off in 5 hours to follow the tour. I won't return home for a month! The NAGNFC will be hosting or helping out with pre-show parties giving away free videos, live CDs and T-shirts! And I've received numerous requests for interviews from local newspapers when I arrive in various cities about the NAGNFC and what it is like to be a Numan fan (especially one traversing the continent to follow the tour). My friends, a lack of interest? Puh-leeze!!! Looking forward to meeting up with each of you! http://themachman.garynumanfan.nu/tour.htm Numanishly, Jim "The Machman" Napier NAGNFC North American Gary Numan Fan Club http://themachman.garynumanfan.nu _______________________________________________________ Send a cool gift with your E-Card http://www.bluemountain.com/giftcenter/ ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 15 Apr 2001 09:50:32 -0400 From: "JAMES CHOMA" Subject: Cleveland Show ------=_NextPart_001_0002_01C0C591.831512A0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Sean, I know of quite a few people going to the Odeon for the Cleveland show; s= ome of these folks seeing Gary for the first time. Most of us are some what more or less adultrs these days (haha) with the accompanying responsibilities and day to day headaches (even though we may not always admit it). I don't have any kids and very little responsibility or worries in life but I still don't have time to spend all day writing to the digest or traipsing all over America to see Gary. Heck, I assumed he would be playing to half empty houses all over America! The best shows I have ever been to with regard to size were tiny shows. Echo and the Bunnymen with 100 people or less in bars in NYC and Norfolk VA on several occasions, Gang of 4 with 250 people in a bar, The Police with about 27 people in Norfolk, VA in about 1979, etc. etc. I grew up going to places like Madison Squarte Garden for concerts. I like small crowds in little places. That is the best thing about Gary. He plays a stadium sized show in a tiny venue. I saw NIN open for Peter Murphy in about 1991 with about 1,000 people in a big bar! Incredible!!! That's what I am expecting from Gary this time around. Well, gotta get back to wqortk on this Sunday morning. See you all in DC tuesday. I am psyched!
