Hello Everyone,
I wanted to back up Jim Napier and say the same thing... the is no lack of
interest in Pure. I have waited since Gary was last here to see him again. I
will be in DC, Montreal and Cleveland for sure and hopefully a show or two
after that. I plan on bringing some Church Of Gary Numan CDs to give away at
the pre-concert gatherings. Take care and see you at Hamburger Mary's on
Tuesday!

Hey All,
How's about BW3 for a pre-concert get-together before the Cleveland show?

Subject: Cincinnati is still standing...
The riots that have been on the media, have been more 100-200 people
burning and destroying the "ghetto" section of Cincinnati known as Over
The Rhine. I live in Cincinnati and have had NO problems.
The venue that Gary Numan will play at is called Bogarts, and it is one
block from the University of Cincinnati. No where near the said "riots"
have occurred.
Don't believe the hype. TV lies.
I am sure that the concert will happen, now that Cincinnati is in Day 4
of it's needed curfew.
Everything is getting calmer.
More news as it happens...

Subject: Pure Tour wishes and thoughts
Well,
Here is the deal on my feelings about the success of this tour in the
US.
In '98, I would have to say I think he did fairly well, considering the
lack of promotion, as well as the lack of knowledge people had about his
tour that are not involved with the being online.
This time around, there is still VERY little promotion again, and
Spitfire is NOT impressing me at all. I mean, I have only found Pure in
ONE! shop! That is it!
Now, on the other hand, it has gotten more critical acclaim than
anything he has done in years! Name dropping, better press, at least in
the UK mags. This is good news. The hard-core music fans, not just Numan
fans, are hearing about it. There are people buying his stuff, but we
just do not know in what numbers. He has been heard here on the radio
at least once in the past couple months(Indianapolis market) on a Sunday
morning show called the Hang Over Cafe, and I have been told he is
getting played on some college stations, and Goth club scenes in some
decent sized cities.
Like others have said, the combination of my age and responsibilities
prohibits me from attending more than two shows. However, I am taking 5
people with me to the Cincy show, and 3 people with me to the Chicago
show. The Venues are going to be small, but I am still looking forward
to a great deal of energy and emotion. THEY WILL BE GREAT SHOWS!
(please let the sound be better than '98, please let the sound be better
than '98, please let the sound be better than '98...chanted in a small
whispering voice)
I want the shows to be a success also, in more than just having the
houses packed. I want Gary to be happy he came. I want him to have a
good time, good experiences, and enough reason to do it again. Even tho
I have been a fan since 1980, I was too young to go see him when he
toured then. I did not see him my first time till '88 when I flew to
the UK. Then not again till '98. So yes, I REALLY want him to be able
to do it again. I would really like him to be able to do a few more
shows, with really spectacular stages and theatrics. Even if he could
only do a few of them.
Ok, I am starting the ramble and think of the past. I am off for now.
One final thought. If you are going to the Chicago show, and you can
not go to any of his other gigs, you may consider staying in town to go
see Blue Man Group. www.blueman.com A cross between a Rock Concert,
Theatrics, and Stomp. They have Sat and Sun Matinees.
Goodnight, I'll take a taxi to the show!
