Anyone else going to their concert the night before, look for us. Shouldn't be hard to find seeing we will have Numan shirts on. The topic of the improved SOUND came up, and Gemma/Ade both waxed enthusiastically that Gary had a new "sound man" responsible for wringing the best sound out of the house systems. The Manchester gig had been a bit muddled in the mix, but London was much better, while Glasgow was perhaps the *BEST* concert sound I've ever experienced (by any band). Even the muddled Manchester sound was a *HUGE* improvement over the shit I heard in Vancouver in 1998, and even Seattle the next night wasn't much better, nor was San Francisco two nights after that. I *THINK* I recall one of them saying that this new sound man WILL be coming along on this tour, so maybe your wish will come true. Speaking of Vancouver, I was out driving my taxi (in Calgary, 1000 km away from Vancouver) on Saturday night and happened to be playing Pure on the stereo. One of my customers remarked that it sure sounded a lot like Gary Numan. I told him it was, and, upon further discussion, found out that this guy had attended the same show in Vancouver. I think there were only 300 people there in total - to bump into one of them in my taxi in Calgary (a city of nearly one million) is an amazing coincidence. :-) / From the desk of Joey Lindstrom / / The people who come out on top write the official versions found in / history books, history that is no more honest than is autobiography. / -- Friday Jones, "Friday" / (Robert Heinlein) ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 16 Apr 2001 19:48:17 -0500 From: Jeff Tolva Subject: Extra Chicago gig ticket All, I have an extra ticket to the Chicago gig on April 28th at the House Of Blues. Any reasonable offer will be accepted! $24.17 is what it cost me. That's the cost of the ticket itself plus the service charge at Ticketmaster. Please write to me directly at machman@interaccess.com if you need this extra ticket.
