It's the entire gig, but before anyone gets too excited, let me say that I'm going to rate this video only as "fair". My friend who shot the video had to set the camera on a ledge in the balcony as security was quite tight up there for some reason. Anyway, he concealed the camera in a sock hat and tried to prop it up with a couple of coats underneth in order to avoid getting the ledge in the camera view. Well, even with the best of intentions, he still managed to catch the ledge in the lower right-hand corner during the entire show...bummer. You can't see David Brooks at all, and Gary is cut off at waist level during some of the performance. You can see Richard Beasley, Ade Orange, and Steve Harris quite well though. The sound is also quite good. Still, having this video is better than having nothing at all I suppose. If you like to trade me for a copy of this video, please write to me directly. I'd be most interested in trading for other video shot during any leg of the Exile or Pure tours. I also have the Croydon gig on video which has a slightly different setlist as it was the first gig of the UK leg of the Pure tour. Let me know what videos you have to trade. (not to spoil anyone's special feeling) did anyone not get told they were part of the best show of the tour? I was at the SF show... Gary rocked. Gary's band rocked. And I totally dug the Gwenmars (just so you know not everyone thought they sucked). Their album is amazingly good too (picked it up at the show). Did the 'NumaNazis" make their appearance this year? I haven't heard any stories like last year's yet. Kudos to Lisa on her GN interview. I caught some of it and it was excellent (due largely to Lisa's exhaustive preparation). Poor Lisa only has 3 usable seats in her car now though... one is now covered up with plastic and says "Gary sat here" ;-) Mark __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? It was my first Numan concert ever and I have to say, it's all that I could've hoped for and then some. When those few green (or orange was it?) lights shined on the stage and the intro music cued, then place just went nuts. The band then walked out single file, Gary coming in last. At this moment I could've swore my heart skipped a beat. The band swung right into "Pure". I held a constant grin across my face throughout the night (when I wasn't singing along that is), and when I wasn't grinning or singing I was screaming my brains out (My apologies to Eric Stafford). Skip ahead a little bit until after they walked back out for the encore. The audience is goin' nuts. He struts around a bit while the audience is screaming "NU-MAN NU-MAN NU-MAN". This was the great crowd participation that I was hoping (sp?) to join! Then Gary breaks with this "Thank you....We've decided that this 's been the best crowd by far on the tour"......again everyone goes nuts including myself. There was GREAT participation on "Are 'friends' Electric?" and "Remind Me To Smile". Skip to after the show, waitin' in line to meet the man himself. I'm tired, slightly hungry. Hey, it was 100% worth it. When it was my turn to meet him I walked up, stopped about 2 feet away from him said "hi" then looking down at my replicas poster and pure CD I had him sign, then looked back up at him and my mind just went blank. Absolutely blank! I started to say some stuff like "this was my first show of yours" and "are you guys coming back this summer?". Pretty random, nervous talk coming out of me. Basically shit he didn't care about but he was so polite and thoughtful. He did, however, say that they were going to be back in September. Fuck Santa Clause. Standing in line to meet Gary Numan was a whole 'nother influential event by itself. When I got home at 4:00 in the morning I passed out I think. The few hours later I woke up and cried my eyes out because the best night of my life was over so quickly, and because of the fact that I actually met Gary. Call me sensitive. Hell, it's been two days since the show and I still can't believe I actually saw and met him. That's a night I'm never gonna' forget.
