Tim... it was ON the Home/Welcome page itself! It was basically a note to say that the Numan camp were de-camping off to the US in preperation for the Tour etc and the office would be closed blah bla bla. - Ian x . _________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com. ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 30 May 2001 11:34:28 -0700 From: Rod Reynolds Subject: NuWorld/Second US Tour > > "Tim Houtby" asked about - Subject: NuWorld > 'where exactly is the May 29 update on NuWorld then?'. > > Tim... it was ON the Home/Welcome page itself! Wait a minute - on May 29th they were closing the shop to go to the US? Shouldn't they be arriving home now and dusting off the cobwebs?!! Re the second US tour. As some of you may recall I worked for Cleopatra during the Exile tour (my name's on the back of most of those Cleo cds, for better or worse). The other day I ran into Brian (my former boss) and he was all questions about things Numan, including the show a couple weeks ago. We were talking about the second tour, and how Spitfire has been running things. At the moment I work for Rhino Records and we wanted Gary to do an instore while he was in LA (he was in LA for a week after the tour ended). We tried contacting Spitfire several times, I emailed them several times, I even signed up on the "Spitfire Street Team". No response to anything. Brian said apparently they were not returning calls even to Gary himself. With that in mind, in addition to the fact that Cleopatra had several catalog titles to promote in addition to the Exile cd, and Spitfire has only the once title, with weak distribution, no promotion, and no response on the label side, Brian suggested that it would be *highly* unlikely for them to sponsor another tour in the US. The costs vs the potential revenue would be considerable. At least, when asked, Brian said that he was happy with what happened for Gary and Cleopatra, with the Exile, catalog re-issues and the tour.
