I've now had it converted into NTSC video format, so I can watch it on my video player here in the USA. I do have the one original PAL video format copy to trade though. The sound quality is excellent. I was told that the video itself was a bit dark (i.e. without much light), but it's not bad at all in my opinion...it's quite watchable! As a matter of fact, I've seen much darker bootleg videos from concert venues. In any case, it was shot from the balcony as Gary played the following set for approx. 50 minutes: Rip Metal Pure My Jesus Cars Listen To My Voice I Can't Breathe Down In The Park A Prayer For The Unborn Also on this video is an excellent video segment from a TV program called "Top 10 Electro Pop" which features Gary Numan in part. This recent show from the UK was hosted by Mark Almond of Soft Cell fame and features other artists such as Tears For Fears, The Thompson Twins, Pet Shop Boys, and Depeche Mode. If you're into electronic music from the 1980's then you'll enjoy this segment...I know I did. This "Top 10 Electro Pop" segment runs approx. 1 hour 10 minutes. If you are interested is trading me for this 2 hour video tape, let me know what you to trade for it. As it's been said before, "I'm always up for a good trade" :-) Take care, Jeff Tolva (The Machman) ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 23 Jun 2001 13:21:01 -0400 From: "Mark Reinertson" Subject: >>>Why are you so gullible as to believe your senses? Too many to list really. I will eventually narrow it down to two or three. However, while thinking along these lines it reminded me of one of my favourite bits of Numan vocal ever. Though not really a lyric as such. That bit during the instrumental wind down (not really a climax as such) in She's Got Claws where he says "OK". I remember hearing this for the first time with a few other friends who were quite interested in Numan at the time and we really couldn't work it out. We had to replay that bit a few times over and scrutinise it in detail. The general view was that it as just some studio talk, which had been added in. It was a sort of quizzical 'OK', so maybe he was asking if his vocal was OK. I was never convinced by that explanation. I also thought that it was a question, but posed to the listener, "OK?". "You doubted me when I gave up touring, but look, I can still give you this. Is that OK?" OK (whoops, I'm doing it now), that was unlikely to say the least, but it was a good theory at the time. Perhaps I should have got out more as a teenager,,,,,,,,, Gary P ------------------------------ End numan@garynumanfan.nu Digest [06/23/2001 18:01] --------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------- T H E G A R Y N U M A N D I G E S T is produced, moderated, and distributed by Derek Langsford, Dave Datta, and Joey Lindstrom dlangs@sunstroke.sdsu.edu, datta@cs.uwp.edu, Joey@GaryNumanFan.NU ------------------------------------------------------------------- To reply to the messages in this list, email: numan@GaryNumanFan.NU If you want to be removed, or someone wants to be added, email: listserv@GaryNumanFan.NU and include this line as the first line of your message body: SUBSCRIBE numan@garynumanfan.nu (email address) or UNSUBSCRIBE numan@garynumanfan.nu (email address) (email address is optional but useful if you have multiple addresses) If you want to switch between receiving Digests or individual posts, again send to listserv@GaryNumanFan.NU and include either of these in your message body: NORMAL numan@garynumanfan.nu or DIGEST numan@garynumanfan.nu ------------------------------------------------------------------ Please note: this mailing list is configured to automatically unsubscribe you if mail to your mailbox goes undeliverable for any reason.
