I feel like I've started a debate of faith and gullable....sorry! I was just giving my opinion, and hope that I have not angered too many digesters. I do feel that a person's religious faith is being abused by the powers that be...it's a form of control by the church/religious group or whoever wants you to 'follow'. And I feel a person is gullable to buy into this. But it is just my opinion and I do not wish to anger those who do have faith...I was just saying how the last lines to Question of Faith seem to sum-up my opinion. So, how about another favorite line to change the subject :-)? "I'd love to be like me if I could feel like you" I think any teen has felt that way at one time or another...I did until I was 30! Good day All! My favorite line is definitely "Time heals nothing, It merely rearranged our memories". Great line. I have several favorite lyrics, but I really love when Gary sings "This house is far too cool". That line and the way he sings it still gives me shivers. True science would never claim to 'disprove' religion, and true religion would never claim to disprove science. Religion and science are like two wings of a bird. Religion without science becomes mere superstition; science without religion breeds materialism. Mankind needs both wings to fly. According to the Bahai writings, 'Mankind has been created to carry forward an ever-advancing civilisation.' Paddy Vickers And what's all this got to do with Gary? Ah, yes! The Church of Gary Numan. ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 24 Jun 2001 22:48:12 +0100 From: vickers@netcomuk.co.uk Subject: Re: OK Gary Perkins, who lives somewhere in Warwickshire, as I do, was struggling with the OK in 'She's Got Claws'. I have always supposed that it was part of the theme of manipulative people, who do not really care about others... His girl friend, you will probably remember, suddenly tried to blackmail him about spilling the beans on their relationship by going to the newspapers. In the song, his musicians are working their socks off producing something of worth, and he suddenly says, 'OK' in a callous and manipulative way, and that's it, they're on to something else. It seems to be a bit of a theme in the whole album...
