Actually, for years I have wondered why beggars did not sign Gary again. I am sure that they could actually afford him much better than some of the other labels Gary has courted. I am sure that is has something to do with the past, but I have still wished it over the years. I mean, they still work together, on things like Random etc.. BTW, come on BB!! Let lose of the other Gary CDs already, would ya!?? Also, Gary! DVD DVD DVD !( comon, chant it with me!) It's a pitty there is only one track (Are 'Friends' Electric?) from Gary, and looking at the track list I can only see one other song I would also love to get on DVD, that being "Ghost" by Japan. I missed Gary's performance on The Old Grey Whistle Test, what songs did he play ? I did however manage to see Japan on that program (all those years ago), but can only remember them doing "Ghost", anyone remember what songs they did ? I would imagine that they must have done about 3 songs each. Maybe Beggar's Banquet should stop re-re-releasing Gary's audio CD's and finally release some DVD's instead, starting with "The Touring Principle" and "Micromusic", and the complete set from The Old Grey Whistle Test, are you listening Beggar's Banquet. ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 25 Aug 2001 07:52:49 -0500 From: Brad LaVoise Subject: Numan / Gravity Kills Seeing that Gravity Kills recently left TVT records and signed with a new label called Sanctuary. They are currently in Chicago to finish up their 3rd album, hopefully it'll be out this fall sometime. And IMO their cover of Poetry and Power was the best track on Random. Jim, pass this on to Gary, he has said they are one of his favorite bands. Wouldn't it be cool if Gary would sign with this label. It would be one hell of a show, Gary Numan and Gravity Kills. That would be one tour I definitely would make more than 1 show. We actually saw Gravity Kills a few weeks back in St. Louis. And even though they haven't put out a record in a few years, the place was packed. The crowd was much younger than a Numan concert is, but what an opportunity it would be too convert the younger crowd to Numan. Okay, also it would mean Gary would play St. Louis ( probably ), which is Gravity Kills home town, oh I can dream, can't I? ====== My copy of Pure Tour Edition number is 08116. How many were actually made, does anyone know?
