I was already a proud owner of this item but it didn't come cheap(£25 ish as I recall, a lot of dough in them days!). The store was Kavern Records in my hometown of Rhyl, North Wales in the UK, and as I flicked through the vinyl offerings....no way man it can't be!! Down In The Park 12 inch single for £2 !!. I nervously approached the sales counter and asked "have they re-released this one then?" "no were clearing out some old stock" "right" I said, as I tried to hide my excitement so as not to give away what a bargain I was getting. I still have both copies of DITP on 12".one of which Gary very kindly autographed for me on the Warriors tour. Nice one Gaz. Anyone got any ideas what DITP 12" is worth in mint condition these days? Cheers, Martin ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 10 Sep 2001 02:34:31 EDT From: ImAnAgent9984@cs.com Subject: Re: Pure >As I said before hmv.co.uk has the Pure CD for #6.99. This is a clear indication that Pure is already 2nd tier after being out for less than a year. Guess he doesn't rank up there with the Beatles, Pink Floyd or Queen which EMI always keep at full damn price, no matter what edition remaster it is they are now selling.< The price of "Pure" has increased here in No. California. Has it increased anywhere else? Then the store owner (I bought about 2 LPs a month since a couple of years in the same store) came to me and said: Hey, you like Tubeway army and Gary numan, don't you? Well, at that time I wasn't a crazy fan...yet, but in the process of becoming one, but I said Yeah. Well, I've received this picture disc of Are friends electric? I'm going to give it to you for free, since I'm never going to be able to sell this one. At that very moment, I had absolutely no idea this was going to become my collection masterpiece. Over the past 22 years, I have been offered upto 500 euro, but never sold this one. Cheers, Luc De Visscher The Numan Factor Belgium ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 10 Sep 2001 09:41:13 +0100 From: "James Chapman" Subject: Best bargains Ok, my best Numan bargains have been: The original Outland CD (original, long deleted and before any reissue was mentioned) for a fiver at a record fair in 1998. The Numa CD of Berserker extended mixes (not sure I've seen a copy since, for 6.99 in 1998). I also think that the Beggars 2CD sets from 1993 (about 30 tracks for 14.99), and The Numa Years box set (70 tracks for 35 quid or whatever it was) were excellent value for money as well, especially because I had yet to hear many of the songs when I got them! :-) Cheers James _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp ------------------------------ End numan@garynumanfan.nu Digest [09/10/2001 18:01] --------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------- T H E G A R Y N U M A N D I G E S T is produced, moderated, and distributed by Derek Langsford, Dave Datta, and Joey Lindstrom dlangs@sunstroke.sdsu.edu, datta@cs.uwp.edu, Joey@GaryNumanFan.NU ------------------------------------------------------------------- To reply to the messages in this list, email: numan@GaryNumanFan.NU If you want to be removed, or someone wants to be added, email: listserv@GaryNumanFan.NU and include this line as the first line of your message body: SUBSCRIBE numan@garynumanfan.nu (email address) or UNSUBSCRIBE numan@garynumanfan.nu (email address) (email address is optional but useful if you have multiple addresses) If you want to switch between receiving Digests or individual posts, again send to listserv@GaryNumanFan.NU and include either of these in your message body: NORMAL numan@garynumanfan.nu or DIGEST numan@garynumanfan.nu ------------------------------------------------------------------ Please note: this mailing list is configured to automatically unsubscribe you if mail to your mailbox goes undeliverable for any reason.
