My luck was at it's peak when I scored a sealed copy of the Living Ornaments box set at a record store in Denver for $5.99. I, too, got copies of Strange Charm and Fury (original CD releases on Numa) in the bargain bins of Musicland, a now defunct (I think) division of Sam Goody....that was many years ago. Since my house was robbed in Sept of last year, I'm pleased to say I've gotten some very good deals from sympathetic fans and CD shops alike.....the best probably being the Automatic CD I found in a used CD shop in Baltimore for ........ um........free........they threw it in as a bonus cuz I had bought about $50 worth of other Numan titles, among other things........original sticker price was $7.99 and I didn't bother to let them know it goes for insane prices on eBay. Some great fans with 'extras' sent me things like the original Radio Heart CD, the Bill Sharpe Famous People CD, an entire set (!!) of those double CD reissues of the original Beggars Banquet CDs...........Ain't Numan fans GREAT!?? I've since rehashed about 90% of my Numan collection that was lost with only a few notable exceptions......I still can't find an original Numa version of Dark Light (I just LOVE the cover art and can't stand the Cleo. reissue cover art), the original 2cd box of White Noise and my Numa Years box. For those of you wondering, yes I finally did score a brand new copy of Sacrifice Extended ....from no other than Tony Webb himself......but of course I had to pay for that one :)))) Cheers, beers, etc etc. Rick in DC --part1_35.1a981fd0.28ceb93b_boundary Content-Type: text/html; charset="US-ASCII" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit I'm starting to like this thread!!!!!! This was around 1987 in Austin, Texas. It was used but looked untouched and I've only played it twice (to tape it, both times.) I also got a great deal on 3 of the 4 Beggars Banquet 2-on-1 disks a couple years later. My favorite local CD shop was closing down and I'd become quite friendly with one of the cashiers. Everything in the store was half price and then she gave me all three for the price of 1, so about $4.50 each! We still keep in touch. :-) Doug ------------------------------ End numan@garynumanfan.nu Digest [09/11/2001 18:01] --------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------- T H E G A R Y N U M A N D I G E S T is produced, moderated, and distributed by Derek Langsford, Dave Datta, and Joey Lindstrom dlangs@sunstroke.sdsu.edu, datta@cs.uwp.edu, Joey@GaryNumanFan.NU ------------------------------------------------------------------- To reply to the messages in this list, email: numan@GaryNumanFan.NU If you want to be removed, or someone wants to be added, email: listserv@GaryNumanFan.NU and include this line as the first line of your message body: SUBSCRIBE numan@garynumanfan.nu (email address) or UNSUBSCRIBE numan@garynumanfan.nu (email address) (email address is optional but useful if you have multiple addresses) If you want to switch between receiving Digests or individual posts, again send to listserv@GaryNumanFan.NU and include either of these in your message body: NORMAL numan@garynumanfan.nu or DIGEST numan@garynumanfan.nu ------------------------------------------------------------------ Please note: this mailing list is configured to automatically unsubscribe you if mail to your mailbox goes undeliverable for any reason.
