Thanks for mentioning it; the bbcamerica.com website says it's being shown several times next month, along with the '74 documentary 'Cracked Actor,' stuff of legend for an oldtime Bowie fan. I don't care if they like each other or not, I like 'em both. If anything, I got into Numan because he seemed kinda like Bowie at the time. > I was really impressed by some of the songs that I hadn't heard before. Yes, I switched ISPs and had to pick a new email address just after Bowie's 'Outside' album came out. One by one, all my choices were already taken... eventually I took the 'spaceboy' from 'Hallo Spaceboy' and never looked back. > > Let's hope that Numan looks as good when he's in his fifties! Agreed. -- Sean ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 25 Sep 2001 23:11:15 -0700 From: Derek Langsford Subject: Ramifications of Gary leaving Eagle Without any announcement to date about a new record deal, it is again time to start worrying about the future of Gary's post-Beggars catalogue. With the split from Eagle, does he take the rights to his NUMA albums with him? Will Eagle continue to produce Numan CDs or will B, TF, SC, MS, S, E and P disappear from the shelves into obscurity? With some NUMA b-sides being held back for issue on singles that never happened, are they doomed to vinyl forever? Will the extended albums ever see CD reissue? They deserve remastering too, but I can't imagine them getting the treatment unless Gary's popularity soars and interest in his back catalogue rises. What about all leftover material from the Exile and Pure albums? Being coy about releasing it usually results in it getting sequestered for goodness how long. Many months ago I jokingly referred to Babylon volumes 8-14. I hope I am wrong. While still with a label, there is always hope that these things will appear. I hope we get news soon. Hello everyone, I saw an ad awhile ago for a 2-cd version of Pure; does anyone have this or know if it was ever released? I looked all over when I was in London recently but haven't found it anywhere. I just presumed that it was a song that he liked and it seemed like a good idea at the time. Don't forget that the song is also mentioned in the lyrics to 'It Must Have Been Years'. > I mean how many times did you hear Gaz playing 'That's too Bad?' in the > Eighties? > > That started as a rhetorical question, but now my interest is piqued. > 'That's Too Bad' was not played live by Gary until 1993. Of course that being a guitar based song wouldn't have been an obstacle - just listen to the original version of 'Bombers'.
