In 1989, I stumbled across "The Skin Mechanic" in a record store, picked it up, and was hooked all over again, but still couldn't find much of his stuff on sale anywhere. I re-rediscovered him once all the reissues started coming out in the late 1990s, and once the Internet made it possible to acquire CDs that never seem to find their way to central Arkansas! Anyway, I was scrolling through the Numan listings on Amazon.com the other day (Rod had said that some titles might be discontinued, and I wanted to see what I needed to purchase before it disappeared!) and read the commentary on "The Skin Mechanic." I was surprised to find that the gist from the fans seemed to be that it was the worst of Numan's live work! One of the posts suggested that the album from the "Dream Corrosion" tour was his best live album, but which one is that? I went ahead and ordered the newest live CD ("Live at the Hammersmith Odeon?" Something like that...), but I decided that I would put it to the people on the Digest: which is Numan's best live album? ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 16 Oct 2001 16:01:07 -0500 From: Mark Hubbard Subject: Numa stuff That is GREAT news regarding some of the Numa stuff!
