Er... in a word, yes. But there's nothing wrong with that, bands use backing tapes all the time. I remember going to see Gary on the "Warriors" tour. His brother was in the band at that point playing keyboards and sax. He was miming the sax, and I always thought "what's the point?" It was so obvious that he was pretending to play it... why not just admit that the sax was on tape? Also, I knew one of the girls working for the "Warriors" tour catering company. She said the roadies would tape his brothers performance every night just for a laugh as he was SO bad at playing keyboards! Bum notes all over the place, apparently. Happy days... A short conversation about GarMan followed. The music is OK, the older material being far better I think. It seems to me that all Gary did on the Sacrifice songs was just sing along to a recorded instrumental version of each song. That barely qualifies as live "music" to me. And man did he screw up The Hunter. Great, great studio song; terrible live version. Also having guys do the usual female vocals just doesn't cut it for me. I guess I'll have a friend burn me a copy and then sell this one. I doubt I'll spin these two discs very much. On another note, can someone point me in the direction of where I can get that Pure double CD? Thanks in advance. I ordered the Pure Tour Edition from www.hmv.co.uk - it came to me very quickly, and the price was less than buying it here as an import (not that I've seen it anywhere in LA). You might check out www.numan.co.uk first, as they have several other Numan titles that aren't anywhere else, don't know if they have the Tour edition though.
