I recently got the CD single of Sting's "Desert Rose" and was shocked to see in the credits "Produced by Sting and Kipper." And not a hint of guitar wanking in the song. Well, it is starting to look like he didn't. And now BB are postponing (didn't they use the word cancel) the remastered reissues of I, Assassin and Warriors. This does not bode well for Gary's future as a viable label artist. Will Numa version 3.0 be his only option? I hope not. Any thoughts? Can anyone confirm whether the 12" of Sister Surprise was the same as the = album version? thanks ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 22 Nov 2001 19:47:57 +0000 From: Colin Daniels Subject: Re: Sister Surprise On Thursday, November 22, 2001, at 04:11 pm, Steve Webbon wrote: > > > > I posted this question a few days ago but then I suffered digestus > interruptus so don't know if it was posted or answered... > > Can anyone confirm whether the 12" of Sister Surprise was the same as > the album version? > > thanks > > It's difficult to check this without access to a fully functioning record deck, but I seem to recall that the 12" and album versions had different intros. The 12" was an extended version of the 7" but had a short intro. Basically a kick drum followed by a filter sweep synth and straight into the song. The album had the extended intro used for the live version. HTH.
