Yes, according to the GN discography, both the Warriors album and the 12" version of Sister Surprise come in at 8:27. The edit version (or 7" version) is shorter of course. So when will the single CD reissues of I, Assassin and Warriors see the light of day? I'm hoping for early 2002 :-) Jeff Tolva (The Machman) ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 22 Nov 2001 22:19:03 -0600 From: "Iamrender" Subject: FW: Long time, no label signing Well, I do not know exactly what this means, but I picked up a new Anthology entitled "down in the park THE ALTERNATIVE ANTHOLOGY" which has been released in the states by Trojan / Sanctuary records on October 9, 2001. This could be an indicator ;-) Whitenoise in Tennessee g-man -----Original Message----- From: pmaster@garynuman.info [mailto:pmaster@garynuman.info] Sent: Thursday, November 22, 2001 7:02 PM To: digest List Member Subject: [digest] Digest (11/22/2001 18:01) (#2001-15) Date: Wed, 21 Nov 2001 21:16:35 -0800 From: Derek Langsford Subject: Long time, no label signing When Gary announced he was parting ways with Eagle Records, some speculated that he had a better offer in hand. Well, it is starting to look like he didn't. And now BB are postponing (didn't they use the word cancel) the remastered reissues of I, Assassin and Warriors. This does not bode well for Gary's future as a viable label artist. Will Numa version 3.0 be his only option? I hope not. Any thoughts? All, The 12" version of Sister Surprise IS different to the album version, and in listening I get the feeling that the 7" is just an edited form of the 12",the main differences are the intros, the slight change of lyrics on the 12"(I prefer the album version) and the addition of a HORRIBLE!! sax line, totaly spoiling the track!! Kipper is indeed working with Sting, ifact he was just on T.V. here in the U.K. for a Sting special,He was sat behind a keyboard all the time and the director obviously did not like him that much as he hardly got any camera time even though most of the band DID get a fair share,...oh!! and he is even FATTER now !! :) Cheers Will _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 23 Nov 2001 17:29:25 -0000 From: "brian.malcom" Subject: Sister Surprise This is a multi-part message in MIME format. ------=_NextPart_000_0012_01C17444.65F5F2E0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Te 12 inch also had a chorus not the frequent whooaahs of the album = version.=20 ------=_NextPart_000_0012_01C17444.65F5F2E0 Content-Type: text/html; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Te 12 inch also had a chorus not the=20 frequent whooaahs of the album version. ------=_NextPart_000_0012_01C17444.65F5F2E0-- ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 23 Nov 2001 19:11:41 -0000 From: "Stephen Cunningham" Subject: Sister Surprise 12" This is a multi-part message in MIME format. ------=_NextPart_000_0000_01C17452.AF494740 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Steve Webbon is spot on. I remember clearly being very disappointed that the 12" wasn't the same as the LP version, mainly because I bought the LP 3 times and had to take each one back due to lousy pressings; the record would skip all over the place. (Anyone else remember that? I seem to recall it getting a mention in the fan club newsletter at the time). So in the end I gave up on the LP and bought the 12" SS, which was different to the LP, hence the disappointment. I'm rambling aren't I? Sorry. Yes, it IS different. Cheers!
