Some of the songs, I really enjoy. The riffs are strong, and the rhythm and beats are cool. Is it what we first think of first when we think of Numan? Probably not. The BIGGEST thing I have against it, is simply this. I could NOT recommend this CD to someone to try. I would be terrified that when they got to the Prince covers, they would be soo turned off, that they would not give any other Numan stuff a fair chance. Even myself, the first time I heard them, I was very shocked. It just does not sound "right" to hear him singing them. I mean, I never really warmed up to On Broadway, but this, no. Sorry. It sounds forced, and contrived, which it basically was, so there they are. On another note, I never really though much about playing Sacrifice as a Love making album, but I have to say, that it just happened to be in the player a few days ago, and well, I have a whole perspective on that CD. Yeah, sorry, more information that you wanted to know! It felt like an apology and I think that made my mind up about the CD before I listened to it. I tried to listen to it a few months ago but gave up after a few tracks! If you were to burn a CD made up of the 'highlights' of his lowest period what tracks (and what order) would you include? Regards Brian ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 1 Dec 2001 14:18:32 -0000 From: "Artemis" Subject: Numan mentions Heard Numan was mentioned twice on UK TV A question on the Weakest Link was 'Who starred in ???? film' and the contestant answered Gary Numan instead of Paul Newman! On SM:TV this morning, after a goal was scored the presenter said 'If that goal were a 'Best of the 80's' CD it would have an extra track by Gary Numan. Cool.
