Screw Columbia House & BMG. I buy all my CDs from my local, independent CD store, Shake Records -the BEST music store in Cincinnati! Heck I've even purchased things from Gary at NuWorld for the exact reason that I want him to get my $$$. Let's hope he makes a DVD this year, then he will get more $ from me. t3rry cincinnati ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 22 Jan 2002 19:19:19 -0000 From: "Artemis" Subject: Sacrifice Can anyone tell me which version of Sacrifice corrected the poor sound of the original? For the version I did for Cleopatra I had the engineer tweak the sound a bit, particularly the treble, to make it a shade brighter. I didn't want to change it too much from Gary's original vision, just to make it sound slightly better. I hope. To my ears it sounds better. Some of the cds had a production glitch around track 8 I think. Sacrifice is a great album but it always sounds muddy to me. It was the first one I chose from the catalog to release in the US Cleopatra series, because it was something I wanted people to hear, and I had the chance to 'fix' it. The Eagle remastered version is in the box set, and I think is the same as the UK Eagle remaster, neither is the same as the Cleopatra version (different bonus tracks as well). I haven't sat down and compared the two (three). I'm sure Ben has. After listening to five different mixes over and over to decide which was the 'best' one, I don't need to hear that album for a long time. ;o) I was in Tower the other day, always check the Numan section of course, even though I have everything. I noticed they had Sacrifice and Strange Charm for $6.99, these being the cut out versions, which are the original Cleopatra versions with a sticker over the bar code (to change the bar code so they ring up differently) with Red Line as the distributor (same as Cleopatra, different name to protect the innocent, or guilty as it were. ) Rod los Angeles ------------------------------ End digest@garynuman.info Digest [01/22/2002 18:01] --------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------- T H E G A R Y N U M A N D I G E S T is produced, moderated, and distributed by Derek Langsford, Dave Datta, and Joey Lindstrom dlangs@sunstroke.sdsu.edu, davdat@allmusic.com, Joey@GaryNuman.Info ------------------------------------------------------------------- To reply to the messages in this list, email: digest@garynuman.info If you want to be removed, or someone wants to be added, email: listserv@GaryNuman.info and include this line as the first line of your message body: SUBSCRIBE digest@garynuman.info (email address) or UNSUBSCRIBE digest@garynuman.info (email address) (email address is optional but useful if you have multiple addresses) If you want to switch between receiving Digests or individual posts, again send to listserv@GaryNuman.Info and include either of these in your message body: NORMAL digest@garynuman.info or DIGEST digest@garynuman.info ------------------------------------------------------------------ Please note: this mailing list is configured to automatically unsubscribe you if mail to your mailbox goes undeliverable for any reason.
