Selling his music is how Gary makes his money. To expect him to be happy about people obtaining his music without paying for it seems to me to be a bit naive. Down-loading his music from other sites does not make it right to do so. And just because other people do it doesn't make it right either. It is not Gary's fault that you can't afford the cost of a CD. I think he is quite out-of-date in this regard (presumably because he doesn't see any upside to it). In my case, I download much music "free" and discover much new music this way. However, I always buy the CD if I like what I hear. In Numan's case, I actually downloaded PURE before it was on CD, as I wanted to listen to it. I bought it the day it came on the shelves. There is no moral question for me. Regardless of whether I can get it for free, I ask myself whether it is worth the money. If the CD is worth the cost, I get it. Period. I believe CDs to be very cheap. I listen and take enjoyment for years on a very modest outlay. Remember, it is no exaggeration to say that Numan actually needs our money. His sales dictate future tours and/or record deals. Most of the music I like is like that. I glady pay to ensure they make the next record. So, it is an investment :) Sorry if this is in HTML, but I can't find a way to stop AOL sending it like this (is there a way?) Cheers. -Stuart Booth --part1_f7.157a0d47.29871f01_boundary Content-Type: text/html; charset="US-ASCII" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit I don't actually agree with Numan's stance on MP3.
