I went into a music store here in order to get a well known compilation (here in germany) called "space night". It regards to a TV program that is shown late at night on channel BR3, where mostly satelite pictures are shown while spacing, techno or avantgarde music is played. Only volume IV was there and I was surprised that a there was the name of gary at one of tracks! It was the remix of DITP from DJ Hell (Dans le parc). I was aware of this remix, but havn't heard it before. Not a killing remix, but better than nothing :-) best wishes, markus ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 9 Feb 2002 16:38:09 -0000 From: "Vickers" Subject: Re: Digest (02/07/2002 18:01) (#2002-76) Michael Tressler says: > . I think Child With The Ghost is brilliant. Congratulations, Joey. Personally, I think Joey's done an excellent job with this, especially with putting the two eras on separate discs. There are one or two instances where I thought "Well I would swap song X for song Y from the same album", as Micheal said, any no doubt everybody would say, but all in all, if I had to burn two discs for the car, one from the Numa stuff and one from the last three albums then that compilation (in Joey's original form) would be very close to what I'd pick. "Strange Charm" would probably have been the first choice in there as well, it even beats "My Breathing" ;-) Shame two Pure tracks were cut off! But even so, I have to say it's one the best Numan compliations put out, and probably THE best without any Beggars material! The second point - Antonio, you mention Emotion. Well I know how you feel, even though I personally can't stand it. Everyone says how Soul Protection was a rip off of Rhythm Nation, but has anyone noticed that Emotion has the same rhythm track as "Every Little Step" by Bobby Brown? Thought not. :-) However, I feel exactly the same way about I Can't Stop - I like it a lot and everyone thinks I'm insane hehe. Though the album version is way inferior to the 10" Club Mix that was on the Babylon Series and the US Cleo reissue - the cool instrumental intro is far better than one that launches straight into the female shrieking -and the shrieking in general is much reduced, and really renewed my interest in the song! I guess Joey has a point there! ;) Cheers James _________________________________________________________________ Chat with friends online, try MSN Messenger: http://messenger.msn.com ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 9 Feb 2002 16:57:22 EST From: MHENSON305@aol.com Subject: Phone lines If you haven't read the latest news on NuWorld, go to it now & read the piece about the February phone lines. The bit where Gary says 'For my next trick I shall punch myself in the face' just made me piss myself laughing. Gary seems very 'up' at the moment. Things must be going well in the studio.
