The label blames the situation on the amount of cut-price Gary Numan compilations currently being released onto the market. Receiver has exclusive rights to 50 Gary Numan songs, which they have been re-releasing (in various guises) into the bargain bins at regular intervals for years. Meanwhile, Eagle Records have now licensed Snapper Records to also produce "Cut-Price" Numan compilations. Beggars Banquet are reluctant to be caught up in this cut-price confusion, and therefore the best they can offer Numan fans is the remote possibility of a Mail Order Only release of "I Assassin" & "Warriors" in late 2002/early 2003. This is a huge disappointment. After releasing 6 of the 8 Numan BB albums, eliminating the release of the last two would deprive all fans of the highly anticipated remastering. Making them available only by mail order will deprive those who only use stores to buy music. Steve Webbon gave us an explanation of the difficult situation that BB found themselves in with so many compilation releases. The BB decision makes the repeated Receiver repackaging not just annoying but totally fucking frustrating. I only have their first two efforts which I got because there were new-to-CD tracks and versions. I am so glad I did not get any more. Steve, if you are reading, please try to make sure that they are at least available by mail order. I cannot imagine not having these final two albums to complete the Numan remasters. None of this material can be issued by Receiver or Snapper. Sigh. It was made by Aladdin Leather. I don't think his site is still up, but you can download the theme by going to http://www.angelfire.com/ok/ELECTRICDREAMS/flyer.html and clicking on the Gary Numan link.
