"He did not just say that. Tell me he did not just say that!" That sucks. The die hard fans know or are aware they should not buy these Receiver Compliations (I have Other Side of.. and Here I Am from when I was a new fan a few years ago, unfortunately I also have Story So Far) and eagerly await these albums. Hell, I wasn't even gonna buy any of the remasters since I had bought the double cd albums, but ended up buying them one buy one. Hell, do a limited release via mail order if need be, but let Warriors and I, Assassin see the light of day. The demand is out there, why delay? Hopefully this does not mean plans are indefinate for the rarities album and some other live albums. If only I was a credible artist who could get to check out the master tapes. I'd go about remixing and releasing instrumental versions. I'd also like to get Dramatis' stuff remastered and released with original artwork. Maybe if I end up a musician and get some studio experience I could do this. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Yahoo! Or were they desperate to make money off of dead back-catalogue at the time they signed away the rights? Damn....I agree that the crappy re-issues ruins the market. I don't actually own any of them....I've never really needed to as I've got the Asylum sets. Is there any expiration on this license? Or could I, Assassin and Warriors be released on Beggars US to get around this miserable situation. harumph. Thanks for the info, Derek. Two entirely separate camps here. Beggars does not have any control over the material Reciever is releasing. Gary licensed the Numa years tracks to Receiver, but not the Beggars tracks. Gary does not own the Beggars material. My understanding is, knowing how Gary feels about his back catalog first hand, yes, he probably did license them a bit out of desperation to make money (coupled with lack of interest) off, in his mind, "dead back catalog", but more importantly he did not realize that the time period he agreed to could be lengthened indefinitely. I believe he sued a couple years ago to get them to stop releasing this material over and over, and lost. Obviously he didn't have his "legal department" go over the contracts closely enough. Cleopatra, by the way, also feels the same way that Beggars does, that the market has been flooded (oversaturated) with Numan releases. The sales figures on their releases go steadily lower and lower. Brian Pererra said, the Numan section went from non-existent or 2-3 cds, a year later there was 15 titles available... I, however, feel the original 8 BB albums are in a field all their own. The BB catalog, from my experience, far out sold any other releases. I would do anything for the final two BB remasters. Let's hope they find a way to get them released at some point, even if on mail order. But will they spend as much time on remastering as they did for the earlier releases - which were superb? What a bummer the music biz can be sometimes...! ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 17 Mar 2002 17:54:11 EST From: MHENSON305@aol.com Subject: Techno nightmare in Alien Studio Just read the update on Nuworld about Gary's nightmare with everything=20 technical.
