I think in this case Gary would actually get performance royalties. This isn't a remake: it's HIS ACTUAL MUSIC, his PERFORMANCE of it. It's been sampled/looped from his original recording. / From the desk of Joey Lindstrom / / I had a dream that all the victims of The Pill came back... boy, were / they mad! / --Steven Wright ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 10 May 2002 11:46:03 +0200 From: luc.de_visscher@ch.novartis.com Subject: Let's be realistic Hi there, Last week I went to see Soft Cell in concert. It was bad, and I mean B A D. Then again I saw the first lines with die hard fans, and being quite neutral I felt sorry for them. In my eyes, I realised 2 things. First, we do not know enough just how good Gary is on Stage. But secondly... maybe neutral viewers feel the same for us at a Numan concert. I think not, but... On another negative note (sorry, I had a negative realisme injection this morning), on the Belgian radio, Sugababes airplay went down form 5 times a day, to merely one. (1!!!). I wonder what happened there. I also wonder if anyone buying the Freak Like Me single will ever buy a Numan record. Just a thought... And last but not least, I was in the UK for work last week, in Horsham. Talked with a whole bunch of people who all liked Gary Numan (?) Really! But never heard of Kerrang TV. So having RIP on 1st or 2nd place, what does it mean? Can anyone put it in perspective? Off course, I am excited to hear AFE on the radio, the No 1 & Kerrang, I just have these thoughts today.
