Hello- I have noticed that you will be releasing Gary Numan's "Beserker" DVD in the UK next month. Are there any plans to release a Region 1 (USA/Canada) edition of this DVD? I am sure that you are aware that Gary Numan has a very large and loyal fan base in North America who would love to purchase this DVD. Thanks for your help, Terry Burke Cincinnati, Ohio USA ------------------------------------------- This message was sent using Us.Net Webmail. ------------ http://www.us.net ------------ ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 06 Jul 2002 13:53:12 +0000 From: "Colin Linskey" Subject: Thanks to Brian Malcolm... Numan @ HMV signing... Helo everyone!!! Apologies for this, but I'd like to thank Brian Malcolm who I fortunately met yesterday in the queue for Gary's RIP signing session @ Glasgow HMV, for interesting chat while we were waiting re Gary, Dramatis, Sugababes etc, and also for taking a photo with his camera of myself and Gary after he had signed a few CD covers. I think I was the one who didn't smile!!! I only hope my finger wasn't over the lens as I returned the favour for Brian!!! :-( Numan was very pleasant as usual as I said "Thanks for some great music!" as I shook his hand. Gemma was looking lovely as usual with her balck hair and red streaks... I asked Gary if he thought RIP would chart well, and he said "It was hard to say, but maybe No.25..." I can't remember the rest. But I sdaid it'd be good for him to be back in the Top 30. I thanked him again after the photo, but wished I had commented on some of his great ballads like You Walk In My Soul, The Seed Of A Lie, and A Prayer For The Unborn, that I had mentioned to Brian whilst chatting in the queue. Thanks again, Brian. Please include contact address, number, or email address when you kindly forward photo... Helo everyone!!! It'd be a good idea tomorrow when Radio One play the new Top 40 between 4pm-7pm, Sunday 7th July, to have tape recorders ready for the rundown to tape the DJ's comments re Numan's first Top 40 entry, other than the Cars remixes, probably Top 40 entry @ possible No. 25, and to tape playing of RIP too... Hello Got the Rip CDs today. The best thing about CD1 is probably the video. For those who haven't heard it, "M.E." incorporates the "Exposure" instrumental (as found on the "Exposure" CD). The new version of "This Wreckage" on CD2 is excellent. The new version of AFE is OK, but not great. At least that closes the latest reissue saga and we can look forward to new material again. Also, earlier this week, I got hold of "Who Watches Over Me", the latest CD by Mesh (one time Numan support band). If you like Numan, Depeche Mode and angst-ridden lyrics, then you could do worse than give it a listen. It's slightly more pop and european sounding than DM, but don't let that put you off. Personally, I think it's f***ing excellent, especially "Firefly", "Leave You Nothing" and "Little Missile". There are soundclips on www.amazon.de if you want to have a listen. By the way, where's everyone gone? This digest is very quiet these days.
