And at 3 in ... Bulgaria (????). This week, I get up one hour earlier, and go to sleep one hour later in order to fully enjoy Gary being in the top 30 again. My 11-year-old son doesn't get my excitement, since his favorite artists (Linkin Park & Eminem) get to number one easily. No way to explain that, well you know, 23 years ago... (his eyes go up, and I see him thinkin' here goes the old one again ;-) ). Greetz & have a nice week-end, Luc ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 12 Jul 2002 18:00:26 +0100 From: "Steve Morris" Subject: JXL and Numan The Daily Mirror (Fanatical Left Wing UK Sex Tabloid) yesterday covered a little article on Numan about his forthcoming caravan holiday and a technology course he's doing. They mentioned the track recently recorded with JXL. Does anyone know whether this is going to be a single? JXL are currently number one in the UK with their Elvis mix. It would be excellent to hear some sped up dance Numan in a high profile to compliment the slow and atmospheric R.I.P. There is certainly a new optimism about being a Numan fan at the moment. Enoch ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 12 Jul 2002 11:02:27 -0700 From: Rod Reynolds Subject: New Release Round-Up (Was: Obscure?) Hi. I found the titles you were asking about listed at www.hmv.co.uk with photo= s and the track listings for the first two. Disconnection is a 3 CD box set that was released earlier this year in the UK. It's a cute little box set, 3 slim jewel cases and a fold out poster with photos from the "Photograph" lp and more. I haven't listened to it because it came out the same time as Dark Wonders which is a 2 cd set from the UK compiled by list administrator and upstanding Canadian Joey Lindstrom. It is the first compilation to use tracks from the Numa era in addition to the last two releases. I spent a while listening to this cd, having done the same thing for Cleopatra I know how thankless compiling cds is... I listened to those Numa albums so many times over and over I couldn't bear to listen to them any more. Joey's selection and programme is quite interesting, and even after all that, I heard some things differently. I think through the years and various phases of our lives, and vis a vis Numan's phases, my tastes aren't always in complete synch with his and I often find I can go back to something I didn'= t care for at the time, and find something new and fascinating. So other's perspectives are always good to look through every now and then. Time to Die, if it's the same one I have (HMV doesn't show the cover or the track listing), is from 96 by Receiver, 16 tracks. I believe all the Receiver compilations cull from the Numa material only. I almost never listen to live material, so I have this cd but have never played it. Track= s are: Me I Disconnect from You, Call Out the Dogs, Emotion, Are Friends Electric, We Are Glass, U Got the Look, Your Fascination, Time to Die, Cars= , the Skin Game, I Die You Die, My breathing, Down in the Park, My Shadow in Vain, We Take Mystery to Bed, I can't Stop. I have pasted the track listings for the other two below. My opinion? Disconnection is cute but for completists only. I was happy when mine arrived, but, as I said, I haven't listened to it. Dark Wonders? Terrible artwork, good selections, a great "car" cd. Recommended but not essential. Time to Die? I'd pass as the artwork is not great, liner notes are slim an= d the music... you already have it. Also: Exposure - the new compilation. Essential as it has two new tracks (My Shadow in Vain (new version), Everyday I Die (new version), previously unreleased on cd 12" mix of Music for Chameleons and the fab remix of Praye= r for the Unborn (Andy Gray mix) previously released on the Pure Tour edition cd.=20 Rod Los Angeles Gary Numan =A0-=A0Other Side: Disconnection: 3cd =A0 CD =A314.99 =A0 =20 Track Listing=20 Disc One - Beserker/Fury 1. =A0 Beserker 2. =A0 My Dying Machine 3. =A0 Cold Warning 4. =A0 Pump It Up 5. =A0 The God Film 6. =A0 Child With The Ghost 7. =A0 The Hunter 8. =A0 Empty Bed, Empty Heart (B-Side) 9. =A0 Hear I Am (B-Side) 10. =A0 She Cries (B-Side) 11. =A0 Call Out The Dogs 12. =A0 This Disease 13. =A0 Your Fascination 14. =A0 Miracles 15. =A0 Creatures 16. =A0 Tricks 17. =A0 God Only Knows 18. =A0 I Still Remember 19. =A0 We Need It (B-Side) Disc Two - Strange Charm/Machine And Soul 1. =A0 London Times (Single With Radio Heart) 2. =A0 Rumour (B-Side) 3. =A0 My Breathing 4. =A0 The Sleep Room 5. =A0 I Can't Stop 6. =A0 Strange Charm 7. =A0 The Need 8. =A0 This Is Love 9. =A0 Time To Die (B-Side) 10. =A0 Machine And Soul 11. =A0 Generator 12. =A0 The Skin Game 13. =A0 Poison 14. =A0 Love Isolation 15. =A0 In A Glass House Disc Three - Live=20 1. =A0 Call Out The Dogs 2. =A0 I Die, You Die 3. =A0 I Can't Stop 4. =A0 Me, I Disconnect From You 5. =A0 My Breathing 6. =A0 Cars=20 7. =A0 We Take Mystery (To Bed) 8. =A0 We Are Glass 9. =A0 Are 'Friends' Electric? 10. =A0 Down In The Park 11. =A0 My Shadow In Vain 12. =A0 The Motion 13. =A0 Your Fascination 14. =A0 Time To Die 15. =A0 The Skin Game Gary Numan =A0-=A0Dark Wonders: 2cd =20 =A0 CD =A310.99 =A0 =20 Track Listing=20 Disc One=20 1. =A0 Call Out The Dogs 2. =A0 The Pleasure Skin 3. =A0 My Breathing 4. =A0 Strange Charm 5. =A0 I Wonder 6. =A0 Cold Warning 7. =A0 The Skin Game 8. =A0 Your Fascination 9. =A0 Berserker 10. =A0 A Child With The Ghost 11. =A0 Survival 12. =A0 Puppets 13. =A0 Cars=20 Disc Two=20 1. =A0 Rip=20 2. =A0 Dark=20 3. =A0 A Question Of Faith 4. =A0 An Alien Cure 5. =A0 Pure=20 6. =A0 Bleed=20 7. =A0 This Is Love 8. =A0 The Angel Wars 9. =A0 The Seed Of A Lie 10. =A0 Dominion Day 11. =A0 Pray=20 12. =A0 I Can't Breathe 13. =A0 I Die, You Die (Live) > Hello all - I need your help! >=20 > I went surfing on an internet store and came across > three titles under Gary Numan that I've never heard of > before.
