I am particularly hoping for the release of the Warriors Tour. Was the show recorded in full and are the master tapes accounted for? How about the I, Assassin tour? And what is the status on the Teletour tapes? I wanted to get a bootleg of the 1983 tour online, but the person in England wanted 10 pounds for it (I'm not sure if 10 pounds a cd meant 20 for the set or 10 for the set). I also wanted Teletour and you know, I thought it was too much for these bootlegs. Could anyone help me on this front? The Teletour show I want from September 7, 1980 includes "Stories", and the Warriors tour cd I want has all of the songs from the Warriors album performed at the Glasgow Apollo and is a complete concert. Thanks. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Yahoo! Oh I most certainly am. Follow the bouncing ball... 'Live at the Roxy' (the farthest-reaching-backward album-length recording of anything Gary) included 7 tracks never to appear anywhere else. 'The Plan' (in its latest incarnation) includes 24 tracks-- minus two that are repeated on the disc itself, and another 5 that are repeated onto 'Tubeway Army.' 'Tubeway Army' = 12 tracks... no extras 'Replicas' = 10 tracks, 5 extras (not counting the second INMAH) 'The Pleasure Principle' = 10 tracks, 3 extras 'Telekon' = 10 tracks, 5 extras (not counting DITP on piano) 'Dance' = 11 tracks, 6 extras 'I, Assassin' = 8 tracks, 6 extras (not counting WTMTB demo'd) 'Warriors' = 9 tracks, 3 extras 'Berserker' = 9 tracks, 3 extras 'The Fury' = 9 tracks, 7 extras 'Strange Charm' = 8 tracks, 3 extras (the Nicholson collabs) = 4 tracks, 3 extras 'Metal Rhythm' = 10 tracks, 2 extras 'Automatic' = 10 tracks, 1 extra 'Human' = 36 tracks 'Outland' = 13 tracks, 3 extras 'Machine + Soul' = 9 tracks, 5 extras 'Sacrifice' = 10 tracks, 3 extras (not counting "Absolution" as that's now an 'Exile' track) 'The Radial Pair' = 8 tracks 'Exile' = 9 tracks 'Pure' = 11 tracks (and the odd couple of tracks that appeared only in live form, "On Broadway" and "Ghost") Still with me? Have your calculator handy? So, all told, that's 300. > At what point do we draw the line? Now THERE'S the real question! For me the selection criteria are: - it's a discrete, separate musical entity, not a remix or rerecording - that Gary sang it or performed the instrumental music I count the Nicholson collabs as "Gary songs" because they're original to his recording of them. Maybe some others would disagree, but let's think about this for a moment. "Change Your Mind" most people would count as a "Gary song" and yet he wrote neither the lyrics nor the music; that was Roger Odell and Bill Sharpe. It's so much considered a part of Gary's ouevre that it was included in cover form on the Gary tribute album, 'Ghost of a White Face Clown,' covered by Henry's Life In Hell. If "Change Your Mind" counts, then so do the Nicholson collabs. Similarly, I count "No Shelter" as a "Gary song" because even though Mike Smith wrote the music, Gary performed it. Plus, Prince wrote "U Got The Look" but it still counts as a song on "Machine + Soul." Those songs aren't Gary compositions, but they ARE songs that Gary has performed and recorded and made available on his releases. And now for a couple of ringers. What about "Redirected Mail" and "The Sailor In Love With The Sea"? Do those count? He sang them, did he not? Shouldn't they count every bit as much as the Nicholson collabs or "Change Your Mind" or the original "New Thing From London Town"? I guess that would tick it up to 302. > Also in regards to your singles list Ben I think you'll find that > Metal was released as a single in the US... Foo. I give up. Any others?
