Gary plays on and co-wrote "Found You Now", a very Numan-ish tune, and Robert's cover of "I Dream of Wires", which was released before Telekon came out. The CD is out of print, if anyone needs a cd-r of it I will trade for a cd-r of pretty much any Numan live or demo recording, or any of these songs he performed with others as well (Dubstar, etc...) According to Gary in his book...."Cars" reached #3 in the US Billboard Chart just after his appearance on Saturday Night Live. I could swear it got to No.1 shortly after....but I can't find the evidence at the moment. I'm googled out. Maybe later. OK..I have a silly question for the list: I'd like to know how many of us on this list have Saturday Night Live (February 16th, 1980) to thank for their obsession? That being the case it makes sense to close it out and come up with the results. But before I do I should give any procrastinators a last chance to offer their own entries since I never said what the deadline would be, so I'll keep it open through this weekend. If you haven't offered your top five favorite Gary singles yet, post them through Sunday and I'll add them in to the totals. After all, we all know how important it is to make sure EVERY vote is counted and to safeguard against ANY being left out of the final tallies. Surely, nobody would contest that idea.
