And being a technogirl myself, that counts for a lot. No wonder Gary is credited with Godfather of Techno!) 3 - Photograph (I'm a sucker for piano). 4 - Empty Bed Empty Heart (the fourth track of Gary's that I first heard, and it really is moving.) 5 - Dance (this was a tough one to decide on when there's so many goodies as b-sides.) Thanks Ben! Cheers, Numpybum ===== __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? It's been most interesting reading about everyone's fave tunes in the digest polls. But what about Gary's 1981 B-side contribution on "Ultraviolet Light" on Claire Hamill's single "First Night in New York"? Anyways, here are my faves for the record. 1) We Need It 2) Asylum 3) I Sing Rain 4) Ultraviolet Light 5) Time To Die All the best and Numanishly, Jim "The Machman" Napier North American Gary Numan Fan Club "Serving Numanoids For Over Half of Gary's Career" http://themachman.garynuman.info ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 10 Sep 2002 20:57:38 +0100 From: "Steve Perryman" Subject: B sides Difficult one. 1. We are so Fragile 2. Do You Need the Service? 3. Face to Face (3 minute pop song with screaming synths - magic!) 4. Exhibition 5. Survival (the perfect B-side to a 3 minute pop ballad!) Just to be awkward, I'm only including songs that are on the B-side or feature as extra tracks on the singles in the previous poll. So, "We Have a Technical" just doesn't get a look-in. Whisper Of Truth 4. Play Like God 5. Ocean It was almost as difficult to decide the order of those five songs as it was to narrow the field down to ten, eight, then five. If any of these five don't qualify as a "B" then I'd substitute "Dance" and/or "Metal Beat".
