So I didn't get to see a Pure tour show (I know, I could have traveled to a different city, but hey when you have children and responsibilities you have to sacrifice some things). But seeing the set list from the show makes me VERY disappointed now! Damn, it would have been great to hear both the old and new songs live! Of course, some were repeated from the Exile tour, and as far as playing in the U.S., I'm sure Gary had to do Cars (which didn't bother me one bit back in '98, in fact, Cars, AFE, and "Friends" rocked the most!). I remember hearing on the digest that Gary wasn't impressed with the turnout or the enthusiasm for the show in Pittsburgh in 1998. Well I thought we were plenty enthused, and guess what, the venue was quite small so even if it was a sell-out the crowd would have seemed small. Add to that the fact that the show got ZERO promotion by local radio stations and little more than just a one-line listing in the "upcoming concerts" section of local papers (hell, I think I personally told more people about the show than these media outlets) and it's a wonder that the show was as well attended as it was. Just wanted to vent a little frustration that I didn't get to see one of my personal favorite musical icons of all-time. By the way, does anyone have bootleg CD-Rs of the Exile and Pure tours? Any chance there may be an actual release of either of those tours? Just wondering.
