I think it gives him a very relaxed and confident look, yet with that rough dark edge to it. I have pretty much liked all of his images, with the exception of the Fury, and possibly Warriors. I liked the idea a lot, I just think it got lost in the translation. I really liked the leathers he had during the Sacrafice period, and think his hair from the past couple of years would have gone well with that. Indeed, to each their own! Walters" Subject: Dark - Extended (Extended IDGAF Edit) Hello all, I have posted yet another IDGAF Edit of a Gary Numan song: http://troywalters.fshs1981.org/mp3/ This latest one is Dark - Extended (Extended IDGAF Edit). It's just over 9-1/2 minutes long, posted as a mono mp3 file. It does not sound NEARLY as good as the CD quality version - but it's all ya get. There's also a couple others on there you may not have heard. And, I've submitted a remix of A Prayer For The Unborn (IDGAF's Agnostic Edit) to the NAGNFC - so be looking for that one. It's different. :-) I have very big plans for the Dark track... soon. I'll post the details as soon as I get done. It'll be my biggest undertaking to date. As always, let me know what you think. Still no negative feedback... Troy L. Walters idgaf@fshs1981.org Indiana, USA ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 10 Oct 2002 09:59:21 -0700 From: Rod Reynolds Subject: Collaborations poll Hi. I've been thinking about this, pondering, listening, and I'm not sure I have the rules straight, but here's a handful of my favorites: 1. Sharpe & Numan "Change Your Mind" particularly the 12" version, honestly, one of my favorite Numan (or related) songs of all time. It's dark and sexy and has loads of charm. 2. "Cars" by Fear Factory w/Gary Numan. Who would have ever thought I could almost like a cover version more than the original. It remains true to the original but gives it a much needed burst of energy. 3. "Prayer for the Unborn" (Grayed Up Remix) from the Pure (Tour Edition) cd - brings the song to an entirely transcendental level. Brilliant arrangement and the layering of rhythms is amazing. 4. "Cars" (J Lab remix) from "The Mix". I don't like 'techno' remixes at all, but this version has great energy and is beyond merely 'tolerable'. It's actually exciting. 5. "My Dying Machine" (William Orbit remix) breathes life into an otherwise somewhat heavy handed (and monotonous) song. 6. Radio Heart "All Across the Nation" - I have no excuses for loving this often ignored unabashed pop song. The production is horribly dated and sadly reminds me of Saga, or Mike & the Mechanics, or Starship... still... sexy. And Not sure if this one counts but if it does, I must add it in AT THE TOP of my list - 1. Dramatis - feat Gary Numan "Love Needs No Disguise" from the period where I love Numan the most, I feel at his most creative. One of his most evocative songs ever. Perfect production. I could listen to it all day. Gorgeous.
