I agree that the lyrics probably relate to the time he was flying over the pacific and the engines cut out, though. ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 25 Oct 2002 10:41:33 +0100 From: "tj" Subject: My Centurian This is a multi-part message in MIME format. ------=_NextPart_000_0010_01C27C13.1625E400 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="Windows-1252" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Call yourself Numos! The engine died at 2500 ft and the aircraft landed Dead Stick in a field and bounced onto the A386. It was only a telegraph pole that stopped it smacking in to a house. Beggars Banquet’s re-issue program for the original eight classic Gary Numan albums concludes with the eagarly awaited release of the final two titles on 9 December:- - Remastered from the original studio analog tapes for optimum sound quality - Original and expanded artwork in a 20 page book - Extensive new sleeve notes and lyrics I, ASSASSIN Originally released in 1982, the album combines Numan’s pioneering electronica with a jazzy fretless bass and solid rock drumming. Though the change from his earlier pop style resulted in moderate sales at the time, the album’s groove-orientated songs offer a complexity and maturity that has a more contemporary edge. The remaster includes the three singles, ‘White Boys and Heroes’, ‘Music For Chameleons’ and ‘We Take Mystery’ as well as seven bonus tracks. I've recently purchased a DVD copy of my all-time favorite horror/slasher f= ilm, "Maniac" (1980) which also happens to feature Caroline Munro as the lo= ve interest of Joe Spinell's serial-killer character. Anyway, as a result = I've been obsessing a bit on her and came across this interview from Octobe= r 2001. I'm posting the bit where she talks about her singing career and w= orking with GN, but if you're interested the entire interview it can be fou= nd at: http://www.horror-wood.com/munro.htm *********************** H-W: How did your working with Gary Numan come about and what other music v= entures have you engaged in? C.M.: I was very lucky to have the opportunity to work with Gary "Cars" Num= an. He had produced this single called "Pump Me Up" and needed a female voc= alist, so he asked if I would do it. It was a very different sound ala Numa= n, and I believe the single did very well in Europe. I had recorded quite a= bit before working with Gary, and have done quite a lot since then. When I= was still at school I recorded my first single called "Tar and Cement." Th= e backing musicians on that song included Eric Clapton, Ginger Baker, and J= ack Bruce of Cream as well as guitarist Steve Howe of Yes. I also had great= fun appearing in two music videos: "Goody Two Shoes" with Adam Ant, and "I= f You Really Want To" with MeatLoaf. Both artists were wonderful to work wi= th and I had a great time doing the videos. My most recent music projects h= ave been with Gary Wilson and under the "Wilson Munro" name we have recorde= d several singles. Gary=92s a very talented artist and I look forward to wo= rking with him again in the near future. I also have a few of my own music = ideas that I=92m currently working on but I=92ll keep those hush, hush unti= l they are actually in production. *********************** Terrence ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 25 Oct 2002 22:19:14 +0200 From: "Markus Dietrich" Subject: Planet Funk: Who said This is a multi-part message in MIME format. ------=_NextPart_000_0005_01C27C74.8D1EC610 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Where can I get this?
